Courtyard by Marriott Newark Downtown

We had to rent something quick and last minute due to our previously booked location being terrible. Rooms were very clean. Staff was ok but not super helpful. We had someone handicapped with us and nothing was easily accessible for her. Parking was not ideal. Staff was ok but not super friendly. Maybe that’s just how people in NJ are but i don’t know.

The property is right beside the arena so it's perfect if attending an event,just be aware there is no restaurant or bar on site. You are also limited to find bars or restaurants in the area if you don't drive.parking garage is next door with an entrance to the hotel.

One of the best hotels I’ve stayed at. The room was quiet, very clean, and spacious, and it included a refrigerator and a coffee set. The reception staff were courteous and very helpful. The hotel is within walking distance of Newark Penn Station.

Location is perfect and close to all shops

The room was BIG and very well-equipped - and the staff was VERY friendly. I do not even dare to thimk about how much more a similar room in Manhattan would cost. From here You can easily use the train from Newark Penn Station to New York Penn Station - 4 to 8 trains an hour. The New York station has a good location by 31 th street and 7 th avenue. If You use a car this is also WAY easier as compared to struggling with parking in Manhattan... Nothing - taking the moderate price into account

The property was very close to the prudential center, which was the reason I chosen the hotel. The day was rainy, didn't get wet just going thru the parking garage. I would recommend to anyone going to a concert or game at the Prudential Center.

Location next to the arena with a walkway tunnel awesome when going to a concert Paying 38 dollars for parking since I was already paying and staying at the hotel

The staff at this Marriot went above and beyond to make sure I was satisfied.

We stayed there for a night, 2 adults and 2 kids… they left towels for 2 people.

It was not up to the Marriott standard Overall cleanliness and housekeeping services, especially the staff, were rude and unprofessional

They not paying attention to what are they doing, at the front desk. We did the check in and they may charge again for my room. If I not check my account I pay double for the same room, and also I pay for a room including breakfast for 2 and now receive my bills from them and Bingo the Hotel charge me extra $44.78 for breakfast. Shame

Be aware, this hotel doesn't have its own parking available, so you will be charged an additional $38 to your reservation at the property. I stayed for one night. The front desk will "validate" your parking ticket from the Prudential Center's parking garage and charge you for it without telling you. Both times I was at the front desk, hotel staff neglected to tell me that I was being charged for parking and for breakfast that was included in the reservation I had already paid for. Imagine my surprise when I saw a $56 charge on my debit card that I wasn't made aware of. Gross negligence of the staff. I should have been told at the time I was getting my ticket validated that I would be charged for parking and upon check-out of the property. It's customary for any customer service to let the guest know what they are being charged for, and how they would like to pay for it. I will not be going back.

Good property was clean not in the best neighborhood

Went for a concert at the Prudential Center, and the hotel was only a 3-minute walk away! The room was nice, and they even had snack options available after the concert. Parking was only $38, which was a huge plus! A total win in my book. The area itself wasn’t the best, but for what I needed, the location was perfect. I would definitely stay here again for an event at the Prudential Center!
