Robert Treat Hotel

Nothing, of you visit Newark, don't waste your time, find other hotel. Everything, starting with no to refund our money. They know the hotel and the serivce sucks, that is the reason that they have no refund policy.

crowded, noisy, and with strong smell of smoke

When I arrived in my room,I didn't have a microwave and I had to go downstairs to request one 3 times. While at my event ,I was told that my room was not paid for so I had to leave to prove that it was. When I check in, I was told that everything was paid for two days. I request to speak with a manager on Sunday but no one ever called me. I was promised free parking for my whole stay and I was charge for a day. Worst experience ever. The front desk staff were very rude.

The hotel is very nice and a great option for visitors to NYC who can't afford $450 a night for a hotel that's not even half as nice as the Robert Treat. A helpful shuttle takes you 4-6 blocks to Newark Penn Station. It runs every 30 minutes. The NJ/NY Path train from Newark Penn Station runs every 5 minutes and only costs $5. The restaurant and bar are really excellent, with an amazing menu and food. There is also a room-service bodega you can order from between 6 AM and 6 PM. The staff is so friendly, and the food is great and very inexpensive. This part of Newark is "gentrified" and very safe. Lastly, I have to explain just how terrific and service-oriented the Night Manager truly is just amazing, kind, and helpful. This is my new NJ/NYC go-to for all my travel reservations.

Hotel was a great one

I shall return to the same hotel. And it has a shutter to the NJ Penn Station.

Flight was cancelled at Newark and it was a last minute booking while our flight was rebooked until the next day. Conveniently located to the airport and subway in to NYC.

I would rated 4.5 or even 4.8 if I could’ve. It was small things that could’ve used some improvement. Front desk staff were super helpful, my flight got in super early but I was able to check in my luggage and explore. I was also able to check in a little bit earlier which was amazing; I was exhausted. Overall cleanliness was good. The rooms window shade was stuck when I arrived and needs replacement. I was able to fix it but it took some effort. The baseboard rubber thing was coming off and exposed just looked weird, no biggie. The first day I was missing towels but the second day they brought.

Nice lobby and restaurant. Bed mattress was very rigid and uncomfortable. No extra towels.

This is truly a GEM in The Big Apple. I enjoyed my stay and the staff made me feel right at home. They are now one of my GO-TOs when staying in New York City. Thank you guys for the hospitality.

Walls are paper thin

Have tried contacting property and nobody will call me back. Wouldn't call Expedia back either. Booked room in error and tried to cancel immediately. Nothing. It was obvious that I wasn't staying in the room. They could at least email me or something. No type of customer service. Beware of this place.

The do not surve breakfast. They should surve breakfast

The restaurant was great.
