Comfort Suites Newark - Harrison

The location is a little gritty, but, it's greater Newark, what are you going to do. If you need to stay in that area (as I did), I'm not sure there would be a more genteel option. I had a bit of a wait to check in, but the desk staff was friendly and competent. Windows do not open. Not even a crack. My room had a lot of traffic noise. There was some hallway noise earlier on--there were a lot of groups of people staying there--but they were adequately quiet later on. The bed was comfortable, Cleanliness was acceptable, and I felt safe inside the room.

My husband and 7 year old granddaughter stayed for 5 nights and I have no complaints at all! The room was very clean, staff was very nice and professional and the daily buffet breakfast was very delicious! I will definitely stay again on another trip to Newark.

The free breakfast was a nice perk. Our favorite items were the waffles and coffee. The breakfast varied a little each day, with different types of eggs, basic sausage patties, cereal, bagels, muffins, juice, etc. Nothing was out of the ordinary, but it was convenient and enough to start the day. The vending machine on our floor wasn’t working, so we had to use one on another floor. By our third night, that machine had also run out of drinks. The bedsheets were clean, but the mattresses were badly indented and uncomfortable. We also had a sofa that was visibly stained and didn’t look clean enough to sit on. There was noticeable dust on top of the bed frame, and we ended up wiping down most of the flat surfaces ourselves because of the amount of dust. The curtains didn’t fully close, so the room wasn’t very dark in the morning. The TV only had basic local cable. The bathroom was disappointing. The shower rod was crooked, the showerhead looked dirty even after we tried cleaning it, and the water pressure was very poor. Our room was directly next to the elevator, so we heard the elevator bell throughout the night. One important thing to mention is the location. The surrounding area did not feel walkable or safe to us, especially with a child. I would strongly recommend researching the area and surrounding neighborhood before booking.

My biggest issue was they advised free WiFi, not for a moment during our stay were we able to connect. Generally comfort Suits New Jersey needs alittle TLC. Would I be a return customer? Maybe! If things improve.

No stairwell, elevator took too long to arrive because of only one elevator being there. The E floor had a horrible odor.

My car was ransacked there. I must have left door unlocked because my locks wasn't broken nor my windows but everything in my car was in a disarray and they stole my bleach out my trunk. But other than that, I enjoyed my stay.

It was spacious. Parking was good.The surrounding was good. The staff members was excellent. The breakfast was good.

Very good cleaning

I had the worst experience ever in my entire life at this specific hotel. I woke up to bedbugs on my bed and I nearly freaked out. I woke up itching and thought to myself it was a mosquito only to find the bedbug running under the pillow. The situation was addressed, but it felt like they didn’t believe me, even after showing them pictures of the bed. However, that one young man who worked the morning shift at front desk was very helpful. He helped me to move to another room and communicated professionally during the incident.

Front desk staff was amazing and my housekeeper Anna had my room impeccable every day the entire week of my stay. I’m not sure what she sanitized my room with but I felt like I was walking into a garden of fresh flowers every day after my shifts at the hospital.
