Quality Inn Newark - Wilmington

I like the pool staff is great and they work with me if needed

Staff was not particularly friendly. Room was ok but rather dark with insufficient light especially over the vanity. Exercise room, I was told, had been closed for years. On the plus side it is within easy walking distance from several restaurants

The only mistake we made was not checking the reviews. DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL. It was NOT CLEAN, from the LOBBY, the ELEVATOR,, CORRIDOR/CARPET was SMELLY/DIRTY, furniture in the room had BROKEN CORNERS, FLOOR felt UNCLEAN in the room, BATHTUB was VISIBLY DIRTY, TOWELS felt UNWASHED. On top of all these things, bedbugs had a feast on me. HUGE WELTS appeared in the morning. I have pictures (not sharing due to privacy). It has been a week, and I still have the itchy bite marks. I seriously considered reporting this place to the authorities, but we were on a time crunch and had to get back home (to Canada). I just wish someone from the authorities sees this review (and all others about this place), verify them by visiting unannounced, and take the appropriate action.

Only stayed a night but the room smelled strongly of cigarettes. Thankfully I had my air purifier with me which is the only reason it was bearable. Everything else was clean and orderly. It does need some touch ups

Breakfast needs an upgrade.

This property should be removed. It looked unsafe and it was totally unsanitary. This location should not sell food and it was awful. My towels had holes in them and we genuinely felt unsafe. We had other family members that decided not to stay at the property because it was so unacceptable.

My stay at the location was ok. I booked a no smoking room but there was still a very strong smoke smell in the room. Also the front desk staff was generally nice but when I request room service I would have to go back to have it done a whole day or days after. The exterior of the room was filthy and had a very strong odor of urine sometimes.

Overall, it was a good stay. The building is a little outdated to a degree. Just need a little tightening up. The pool is nice. The beds are nice. The shower is good.
