Cliffside Inn

Had difficulty with early checkin communication but rest of our stay was exceptional. Nice snacks 24x7, wine hour, ample breakfast choices but not make to order. The bed could stand to be updated. It had the old fashioned box springs that moved around and wasn’t great on my back. Beautiful outdoor area if weather cooperates. Very convenient to cliff walk

Everything about this inn was charming and lovely! You could tell that much thought had gone into the interior design of all of the rooms. Our bedroom was spacious, the breakfast was tasty, happy hour with the other guests was always enjoyable. The outdoor spaces were also nice to enjoy when the weather allowed. There was no elevator so getting luggage up to the 3rd floor was a challenge.

Beautiful and unique old mansion. Expect uneven floors and creaky beds, etc, but that's half the appeal. Charming! Right next to the Cliff Walk, which is great.

This is a beautiful property but the rooms could probably use a little upgrading. It was steps from the Cliffwalk. Breakfast should be served earlier.

It was so cute and quaint and in a convenient location for the ocean and cliff walk. It was a little far from the pier if you are walking. Driving was quick, but parking down there is tough. I really loved the aesthetic and it was very comfortable . The staff was a bit snooty. Check in is supposed to be at 4. I called morning of and asked if we could get on at 3. She was pretty unhelpful, and as it was I think they cleaned our room last, because it wasn’t even ready until 4:15. Then the next morning they were at our out door to clean at 11:00 sharp. I just kept thinking—why couldn’t they have cleaned our room first or even 3rd on the day we asked to get in 1 hour early? The check in lady gave off an attitude of “oh well…”. The room was like $700 and we had it for 17 hours. I think for that much money they could be nicer and a tad bit more accommodating.

What a lovely place to stay and enjoy fully the charm of Newport! The tasty breakfasts, cookies, bottled waters, and wine happy hours were all included in our stay and very nice. We enjoyed sitting outside on the front porch and by the fire pit in the garden area. Highly recommend for a romantic and relaxing getaway!

Exceptional

We stayed in the Turner Suite. The hotel is beautiful and a very close walk to the Cliff Walk and also to the restaurants and shops. The staff is very friendly and makes hot breakfast in the morning, fresh baked cookies, there are always snacks around, and a very social wine and appetizers around 5. The only issue we had with the Turner Suite is the very odd tub with overhead rain shower. The control for the bath is visible, but the control for the shower is hidden on the wall behind the curtains and there's no indication anywhere to look for it. There's also no shelf or other place to put the bottles of shampoo, conditioner, soap etc so you have to keep them outside and keep reaching for it. Ideally the hotel would just install a shelf where the shower control is, or get one of those wooden bath shelves you can use for this purpose. We would definitely stay here again, but would probably choose a different room due to the odd shower.

Great location Disappointed that in room coffee wasn’t available. The breakfast was ok but not a nice full breakfast. Expected more based on the price we paid
