Wayfinder Newport

Stayed with my family of four , teens 13 and 14 and it was perfect. The staff was wonderful, room was clean and the hotel was beautifully updated . You can tell they put a lot of effort in to the property. The bed comfort level was I’d say mid at a 6/10 comfort level. The hotel smells amazing , I don’t know what scent they are piping through the place, but it gives West#% vibes. We loved the shampoo/lotion/body wash scent and we had to go to Thames Street to stock up on the local soap brand they have in rooms. If you’re an Instagram mom that is looking for a cute , family oriented property this is your place .

Pleasant stay but expected more. Balcony was a waste only view was the parking lot. Pool was crowded and small. Rooms were refreshed but carpet stained and no closet. Beds were comfortable. We skipped the restaurant. Shuttle to town was helpful but not frequent enough. If we went again to Newport would stay closer to town.

Great staff trolley service was great!

Check in and out was smooth and lobby is nice. The lay out of the hotel is very confusing and some of the stairways have no AC. We also initially had issue with AC in our room and maintenance said its because of the wooden cover on the AC?? Once it was removed, the room cooled off. The first day that we went to the pool there were no pool towels available. Also, after the second night our room was not cleaned the whole day then after we came back from dinner, all the towels were missing and not replaced. I had to call the front desk to request new towels. Then every time we tried to take the shuttle it was full and we had to wait another 20 minutes for it to circle back. I would give this hotel three stars at best, definitely needs improvement.

Great hotel and pool area. Shuttle service to downtown was a plus! Very friendly staff and restaurant/bar on site was amazing! Had a quick bite to eat for a late night dinner and breakfast was delish!

Not worth the price. The property was the equivalent of a cutely wallpapered Howard Johnson’s. The a/c does not work due to the decorative covering over the unit. Our room was 80 degrees. Housekeeper did not provide enough towels or replace the complimentary water. The bench and floor of our room was unswept and smelled like a locker room. There was mildew buildup in the shower. Garbage from the previous guest was left on top of the closet shelf. Pluses - the engineering staff called to fix the a/c were 10/10 on both visits. The front desk staff was friendly and responsive. The restaurant and cafe staff were also very good. The property is conveniently located close to downtown and provides a shuttle. The amenities were equivalent to a budget hotel but the price charged for the room was exorbitant. If I could title this review it would be “Lipstick on a Pig.”

Cute hotel. Clean. The pool area was nice. The shuttle to the wharf was amazing because parking there is impossible. The bed was a little form for me. The biggest complaint is the room was really hot. The air conditioner is surrounded by a panel and it blocks airflow

Intolerably uncomfortable beds. As a result, we left a day early. Air conditioning was a secondary problem. It defaulted to 70 degrees no matter how many times it was reset. If you like to sleep in a cool room, avoid this property.

A special shoutout to Eddy, the shuttle driver and tour guide. He truly made the experience unforgettable! His knowledge of the area, great personality, and genuine care for guests made every ride enjoyable. He went above and beyond to make venturing out around Newport fun, easy, and stress-free. Wayfinder is fortunate to have him on their team—he deserves a raise! Employees like Eddy are the reason guests want to come back. The hotel itself was clean, comfortable, and full of character. Thank you to the entire Wayfinder team for making my trip so memorable. I can’t wait to visit again!

Tammy was great, but hitting us with the $100 amenities fee was not. This should be part of your regular rate. Leaves a very bad taste and too bad because everything else was good.

Great stay. Rooms are very nice. Restaurant was good, as well.

The shuttle only leaves once an hour which is fine, but had limited seating so sometimes you can't utilize it if there's too many people who want to use it. The fitness center was dated and smelled musty. The pool deck is cute, but the pool is extremely small. Also, there is no where on property you can buy bottled water, which is extremely odd, as they have a small coffee bar that sells other bottled drinks.

Overall decent hotel, and few very questionable hallways that feel like you're in a very cheap motel.

The hotel itself has all the amenities you need... a large outdoor pool with plenty of lounge chairs and decorated in fun colors with a fence to make you feel like you're someplace else. Little things like the colorful decor in the check-in area, and having several comfy lounging areas in the lobby to either read, relax or work on your computer. Wifi was a bit spotty in our room, but fine in the lobby. There is a good restaurant onsite, with a nice bar area. And a grab and go coffee/snack shop in the lobby which we used every morning! The rooms were clean and beds were comfy. And the fitness is small but has everything you need to get a good workout in! We would definitely come back!

Staff were very helpful. Good location. Room was nice, but attention to detail when cleaning was lacking. We had an issue with our toilet flushing when we were there and it was addressed satisfactorily. Overall quiet, except for our last night.
