Great stay!

I would say it was just average. You can tell in the rooms that it is getting older and slightly run down. Just because a newer shower curtain (which was already stained) is hung in the bathroom, we can still see the stains on the walls, the old paint and dingy vent and poorly cut access panels. the floor under the bed could have been and should have been cleaner. If you're paying more than $180 a night, paying for parking, no breakfast included and not using house keeping I think we could expect a little better cleaning on the rooms for turn around. Replace duvet covers and curtains that are stained! the complimentary water was empty in the lobby a few of us let staff know however it didn't get filled until the next morning. also rm 233 has a window that just faces the rooftop AHU and disconnects switches, the room was dark. new floors though, not carpet thank goodness.

The room itself was unacceptable. There was garbage left in the trash can, food still in the refrigerator from a previous guest, what appeared to be feces on one of the walls, brown spots on the floor, and the floors felt sticky. The refrigerator didn’t work, even after we unplugged it and plugged it back in. Because it never got cold, our drinks stayed warm and our leftover food spoiled. One of the main reasons we chose this hotel was to enjoy the “heated” pool before our evening plans, but it was extremely cold and clearly not heated, making it unpleasant to use. To make matters worse, you have to pay additional fees for parking, Wi-Fi, and breakfast. Paying extra for these amenities is frustrating when the hotel falls so far short on cleanliness, maintenance, and customer service. This experience did not reflect the quality or hospitality we’ve come to expect from Marriott

Love this place - easy to see our son next to Hewitt and help him to set up his dorm and good location for coffee and something to eat. Love to stay hotel. No problem at all

I think parking in a parking garage with no offering of valet is a bit of an issue with more travelers than ever having disabilities, including myself.

Centrally located to stores and other venues.

Property was very clean and staff were amazing. Location had lots within walking distance.

Room was never cleaned from the previous guess. Called front desk three times and they never cleaned the room, made the bed or took the trash out until the third call. We still never got fresh towels. Horrible experience

Wanted to be close to ISU. The hotel is perfect! It’s also walking distance from all the shops and restaurants in downtown Normal. They comp parking and have a pedway connecting the parking garage to the hotel. The refrigerator in the room never got cold even though it was on the coldest setting. The shower curtain liner was overdue for a change—it was a dirty orange color and had an odor. It’s something one would expect a hotel chain like Marriott to keep up on. They also had a sign in the bathroom saying they would leave your towels if they were hung and only change things left on the floor. (An effort to conserve water and resources which I support.) We hung our towels and left nothing on the floor but found our towels replaced with one less washcloth. It was strange.

Overall, the customer service was wonderful. The staff was very kind and accommodating. We got to check-in a little early. The hotel is really nice in a great area in the heart of normal. You can find good restaurants, bars and stores nearby. Its right by Illinois State and Amtrak, which is great! The cleanliness of the room is okay. However, you can oy do the best you can in a hotel room. Booking.com definitely overpriced me, which is no fault to the hotel. Overall, im glad we stayed here.
