Dirty and inconvenient because the front door was blocked and they have no elevator

1) Many electrical outlets in room didn't work overnight and mysteriously turned on mid-morning before checkout (light switches were off and then on, devices couldn't charge overnight but then could charge in the morning, etc.). Slept without A/C when the humidity outside was terrible (news reports say this part of Illinois was worst in the country at the moment for humidity). 2) False advertising with "breakfast included." There was a coffee machine, but the "breakfast" was a grab-n-go back that had a Natures Valley granola bar and a small bottle of apple juice. That's a snack, not a meal. 3) Room smelled of cigarette smoke even though it was a nonsmoking room. 4) Front door was taped off so had to jump curbs with luggage to get to side door.

It was ok, hallway smelled musty but room ok. No coffee tea in room but coffee downstairs.

Once we got inside the room after inspecting it beforehand, I realized just how dirty it was, staining water in the shower that would not drain, the formers were so dirty that I literally had to use all of the washcloths just to get them to where I would allow my grandchildren to walk on the floor. My six-year-old granddaughter said this isn’t a super eight. This is a dirty eight hotel.

No elevator

nothing owner was rude, place smelled like cigarettes and death. I think there was a dead animal in the walls of my room. At least thats what it smelt like.

Dont book here mold in carpet, room stinks no bathroom lights, I am pissed I spent my money here.

Staff was very friendly. Stairwells were stifling, halls were not air conditioned. Because we had a small pet were put on the 3rd floor despite the hotel being nearly empty and even after informing them I had knee surgery earlier this year. “Free breakfast” was a crunchy granola bar with room temperature pineapple juice.

Very nice hotel. Lived there room set up. Slept like a baby. Bathroom was very modern.

I’m certain someone has pranked us! There is no possible way that a hotel as old and grimy as the Super 8 in Normal, IL is still in operations! This had to be the absolute worst hotel we have ever booked in history! Please DO NOT waste your money staying here. Where do I even begin…? The entire hotel wreaked of cigarette smoke! There is no such thing as a non-smoking room!! It’s everywhere!! The property is so old and run down it looks and smells like an abandoned zoo! I’ve never in my life experienced anything like this! The microwave had a turn dial. No digital screen or push buttons. The room was so dark. The lighting was ancient! I was afraid to walk on the carpets without socks or shoes because the rug looked and felt greasy and grimy. YUCK!! We went and bought a can of Lysol and Clorox wipes from a nearby store and sprayed and wiped down everything!! It was unbelievable!! You truly get what you pay for!! We will never stay at another Super 8 this ancient again. It took almost 45 mins to even check in! What in the world? The view outside our window was garbage on the ground behind the next door business. I recommend this property to be condemned. This was hazardous to our health!! Terrible!! 0/10 WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!!

The refrigerator worked perfectly so it was helpful and good for leftovers from dinner and kept our beverages cold. The room air conditioner was set at 70 and cooled properly. The t.v. Worked properly. The staff was pleasant. It was old and run down and carpet was so old and dirty. When we walked into the lobby and the hallways to our room, they reeked of smoke! We spent as little time at the hotel and in the room as possible. We understood there was breakfast, but it ended up being breakfast to go - a juice and a granola bar. Each morning we had to leave the motel to buy breakfast and coffee.

The location was perfect. The smell of smoke from the smoking rooms. The hallway carpet smelled of old smoke and marijuana.
