Could use a renovation and new linen.

The guy who was working for us checked in quickly and was friendly. The room was clean and quiet. The bed was comfy. Would definitely stay again if in the area.

We were traveling for pleasure. The room was excellent and the beds were perfect. Thank you for a wonderful stay. The lovely lady at the front desk even filled our water cups with ice for us as we were checking out. Great customer service.

Great stay with update rooms!!

I would keep looking. This hotel is not friendly. Pool is closed but full and functioning. Lobby is massive though you cant enjoy it with their weird rules about food and beverages. Rooms and so dated, who uses a sliding door for a bathroom that doesn't lock or fully close. No lighting in the rooms. There as a family for a baseball tournament and site host chooses the participating hotels. I would choose against this one they do not like a large group of young teenagers. Brkfst staff were the only highlight.

Room smelled like mildew,

the staff was quite rude. the first room we got unpacked and had to move to another room because the a/c wasn't working. we had 2 baseball teams with parents and grandparents staying there. my daughter and grandson had mold in the ceiling of their bathroom. one of the workers said there were a quite of few rooms that were not even rentable because of lack of maintenance. we had a few up to maybe a half dozen who checked out and moved to another hotel. we were there for 3 nights. the bathrooms were extremely small and had no exhaust and after a shower it turned the room into a sauna. we had ball uniforms to wash and the hotel was out of quarters so we had to run to a gas station to buy quarters. the only good note, the common are was very nice and the buffet breakfast they had, which we paid for, was very good. and finally this is the worst holiday inn i have ever stayed in.

The room itself was good; clean and pretty comfortable. We paid in advance for breakfast and it was pretty good as well. The exterior of the property was very neglected and it looked like there were some people living out of their car at the far edge of the parking lot, which gave the whole place a rather seedy appearance. The pool was closed and based on other comments, it looks like it had been closed for some time, which was a real disappointment since we specifically chose a hotel with a pool and looked forward to using it. Looking at their website today, a month later, they indicate that the pool is still "closed for maintenance". Makes me wonder if they ever plan to open it again. And finally, upon returning home I noticed a small $8 charge on by credit card. We didn't purchase anything, so I inquired about it via the website. It was removed without any explanation as to what they were charging me for.

My stay was very good for one night. On the second day housekeeping never came to do my room. They also did not do my son-in-law's room and we were on different floors. I told Jaime, the bar, dining, and events manager, and she got the clean towels for me and emptied my garbage. She was very helpful and an asset to the hotel.

Room was clean. Pool is not working, bar staff was mediocre. Morning breakfast staff was friendly.

Clean and comfortable rooms. Staff was great - perfect location for ISU and Tailgates and Tallboys (about 10 minutes from fairgrounds). Would stay here again!

The phone lines were down, so when I tried to call for service, I ended up having to go down to the lobby to ask how to use the shower. The person at the front desk was very professional and very helpful.

great place to stay

We stopped at this hotel on our way to Des Moines Iowa. It's convenient to the highway, the beds were comfortable, the bathroom was clean and the temperature was good. We checked in late (10 pm) and left early (5 pm) so we didn't get to use a lot of amenities. We were told that the pool wasn't warm -- heater want working (no worries for us) and given keys to the room and instructions on how to find it. Checkout was straightforward. Turned in our keys and we were off. We liked that we didn't have to pay for a breakfast we weren't going to be able to eat because we left so early.

We stayed for a youth softball tournament. We paid a very overpriced rate and were supposed to get free breakfast but were told that we had to pay for it. On day two we were allowed to eat breakfast, but they had only one person working the breakfast shift. They were in charge of both taking orders and cooking the food. Needless to say we didn't get to eat. The pool was not usable and there was black mold all over our ceiling in the bathroom.

AC did not work. Breakfast was a standard hot breakfast but good.

The room was clean.

When making the reservation, I requested a lower level and handicap accessible bathroom. When we checked in, we were placed on the 4th floor with a regular bathroom. The hotel was pretty empty and we were told no other room was available. Also the reservation stated breakfast was included, during check in we were advised there is a restaurant on site, but we would have to pay for breakfast.

Everything was great at the hotel. Pool was just very cold and we were there in the spring.
