Clarion Pointe Bloomington – Normal near I-55 and University

The property is run down and trash is everywhere on the property. We checked in late as the weather was an issu the staff at the front desk was less than welcoming. They seemed to be unpleased to be working. After checking in we we getting ready for bed. My daughter turned down her bed to a gross amount of hair on the pillow and sheets. Their response from the same person at the front desk I can get you clean sheets. I am now the cleaning staff at 1AM making the bed. When I called customer service their response was to log a complaint. They could do nothing other than that as management is "overseas". I then attempted to get something resolved and I received the same answer management is "overseas" this seems to be the answer to a failing property. She also was not willing to provide the name of the shift, cleaning, or any type of local management. Stay away unless you would like to bring your own sheets and towels.

The place was clean people are friendly

The room was filthy. We were traveling with children and didn't feel comfortable putting them on the floor. The bathtub was also dirty. It turned into a stand-up bath for the little ones. We will never visit this hotel again

There wasn't even a blow dryer in the room.

It looks like they are slowly updating but it seems a little run down.

Stains on the sides of the beds, on one of the sheets of one of mattresses, and in the ceiling as well.

Dirty

The beds were nice and fresh and clean! I feel like the carpeting was gross and needed cleaned! I was excited about the free breakfast, but it was basically waffle, cereal, and yogurt. There is a lot of repairs that you’ve done on this hotel!

Terrible hotel to stay at.. the staff was rude we were told we couldn’t get clean towel except every 3 days and a roll of tissue a day.. when I checked in I was given a dirty room the receptionist apologized and gave me another room but when I got my new room there were beer bottles on the side of the bed. Also we couldn’t use the pool because it was freezing cold.

This was definitely a get what you pay for room. The bathroom was the worst of it. It had definitely been “renovated”. There was sloppy caulking, with the empty caulk canister still in the trash. There was scraped off caulk on the floor. And whoever was in the room prior hadn’t even flushed the toilet. It served its purposes, but don’t expect anything more than mediocre.

It was conveniently close to Illinois state as I had to be there for 2 days Well at check in the hotel had no staff but the front desk person. The next day I leave my room to return and it wasn’t even cleaned or refreshed with towels until I went to the front desk about it and was told they had check outs so the first floor was being serviced

This hotel is dark, dirty and not well maintained. Definitely in the motel category, the property needs major help with maintenance. However, the property manager was great! Very helpful and she tried to accommodate us as best as she could but the property was unacceptable. We went to the Holiday Inn in the next parking lot, we left this hotel ( that I paid for and didn’t receive a refund), did not stay the night and checked into the Holiday Inn, great decision!!

The bathtub was also dirty, and the whole room just felt unclean. On top of that, after sitting and lying on the bed, we started feeling itchy, which made it really hard to get comfortable. I understand this isn’t a luxury hotel, but basic cleanliness should still be expected. I would not stay here again and would not recommend it to others.
