Hyatt Place Bloomington/Normal

When we arrived the power was out and we were sent to a different hotel and told they would cancel the reservation.

Very nice hotel. Comfortable beds and pillows, quiet. Convenient free parking across the street. Wished the lobby bar were open later than 10.

The pool wasn’t available again. We haven’t stayed here in 2 yrs and it still hasn’t been fixed. And another thing we stayed here 2 yrs ago and the ice machine is still broke

Nice facility, good breakfast. Both the website and email confirmation said no check in prior to 4pm. But it us in fact 3pm. We were looking forward to access to a pool and nowhere was it mentioned that it was closed for maintenance. That honestly would have swayed my booking.

Location and staff were very friendly. Breakfast area and options were great. Our room size was ok as was the bathroom area for 4 of us however the AC and fan in the room weren't working great and made for a stuffy sleep environment. Sheets and blankets were not prepared or available in our room for our pull-out bed, we were able to go down to the front desk and remedy but it was very late when we returned to the room. Plugs in the room walls were really loose and wobbly in the wall so we were concerned about safety so we didn't use those. Overall a solid experience with location and staff but a few misses in the room itself.

Very nice hotel. The pool was closed when we were there, and they didn't let us know on booking. Otherwise it was great!

This is mostly for families with young kids- if I didn’t have young kids most of these things would not have been a problem. THE POOL IS CLOSED for renovations and will not let you cancel with refund for the pool closure. In our room there was a drawer that wouldn’t shut we kept running into and a screw was off the toilet seat. We usually leave a bathroom light on for the littles to get up in the night and this one was on a motion sensor so it would turn off. The drop off can get a a little crazy but that’s more on other guests and the hotel has no control there- you have a tiny lot to pull in for unloading and park across the street so know your license plate. There is a good sized area in the lobby to sit if you are bring food back or if you have to get some kids out of the room to get others down. The staff that you actually interact with are all friendly/helpful, my problem was more with the people who wouldn’t let me out of a one night stay

The only amenities was the pool and it's closed for remodelation. No one tell us until we ask.

We felt that the carpet had stains. The hallway carpet was stained in spots. We didn’t realize when we booked that it being a pet friendly hotel meant that every room has probably had pets in it. Even though our room was clean it had a pet scent to it. We not booking at a pet friendly hotel again.

The front desk staff was very nice. Smooth check in process. Parking was good, as it was included in the price, and was a parking garage. The bed was very comfortable. The shower and bathroom were nice. The room had coffee, and a small refrigerator. This hotel is very centrally, located to the university and to uptown normal.
