Wyndham Garden North Bergen Near Secaucus

One of our main concerns was privacy in the bathroom. Both the bathroom and toilet doors in our room did not have locks. Although there was a door separating the bedroom and bathroom area, there was still no way to lock the bathroom or toilet from inside. We were told that this is the standard design of the hotel, but personally, we did not feel it provided the level of privacy we are used to. There were also a few other issues in our room. The iron box had visible rust, and the hot water supply was not sufficient for our family. After two people took a shower, the water became cold, which was inconvenient. Our room also did not have a microwave. We were told that there was one on each floor, but we were unable to locate one. Another difficulty was contacting management. It was not easy to speak directly with a manager, and we were told to communicate by email and wait for a response. This made it difficult to address concerns promptly during our stay. These issues may not apply to every room, but these were our experiences with the room we received. The staff were polite, but overall, the lack of bathroom privacy and the other room facilities made our stay less comfortable than expected. We hope the hotel considers improving these areas for future guests.

Parking was free, quite a bonus. We checked in quickly, maybe 5 mins, $200 refundable deposit. Our door to our room was open on arrival, they were apparently air drying the floor and a cleaning staff did knock on our door about 20mins after to ask if everything was ok. Room was clean and I liked not having carpeted floors that can hide petri dishes of yuck. The chairs in the room were also covered in a faux leather instead of a cloth material, another plus. The bathroom and toilet were horrendously desisigned but clean. There is a privacy panel you can open and close between the bedroom and the bathroom area but truly the designer of that bathroom should consider a different profession. There was a big gap between the non locking glass toilet door. The shower, also a glass door with no lock, had nowhere to hang your towel or clothes you removed before getting into the shower. There was one peeling panel on one wall and the blinds were both ugly and stained. Bed and pillow was comfortable, cover was quite thin and a/c loud but worked very well. We were able to adjust the thermostat on the wall to our comfort. This place was convenient, 15mins to the stadium and apparently had a shuttle that we did not use. It was quiet and checkout took about a minute. Would stay here again.

The buffet breakfast doesn’t exist. Their shuttle sucks they don’t answer the phone. Coffee maker in room didn’t work. No microwave in room. Tv is so old can’t stream on it.

Room is needing a microwave other than that it was perfect

We had problems with the hot water it never got hot and we had to ask for new towels every day.

White lady was lovely great customer service. The evening staff could use some work.

Unfortunately, our experience became even more upsetting when we discovered water coming from underneath the floor. We immediately reported the problem. A staff member named Tom came to inspect the situation. However, instead of approaching the matter professionally and focusing on resolving the issue, his attitude made us feel blamed and uncomfortable. He questioned why we had not reported the water earlier and insinuated that if the water had been there, we should have noticed it before. When I asked him directly if he was suggesting that we had caused the water on the floor, his response and attitude made us feel that we were being accused rather than helped. He then used a face towel from the bathroom to dry the floor and asked, in a bad manner, “What do you want?” This was extremely disappointing and not the level of customer service we expect. No manager or supervisor available to address our concerns at the time. We chose this hotel expecting a comfortable and respectful stay, and unfortunately, the this experience has been very upsetting.

C’était parfait, proche du transport en commun, d’une épicerie et quartier sécuritaire. L’endroit est très propre en plus du stationnement gratuit. C’était très abordable.

They don't have airport shuttle.

Good newly refurbed hotel. Clean. Only concern is the $200 charge for room damage. That doesn't make sense to me... And neither does the 3-5 day wait for reversal of the charge. This needs to be put upfront at the time of booking, not checkin.
