Anchorage by the Sea

Location, location, location. Its right on the water and magnificent. The room could have been better stocked with TP, soap, towels and extra pillows but we worked it all through with the staff

Overall excellent experience

Location. Carpets were so dirty and smelled. Ice machine broken. No one came to clean our room. Bar not stocked and understaffed. Almost every part of it smelled.

All in all great time.

Nice access to the ocean and the downtown area. The pool was a little warmer than we would have liked but it was clean and overall a great place to stay.

Towels were always out and we would have to wait till a new load was finished. The room location where we weee put was right next to the stairs, which are very loud and noisy. Probably a great place for families with children. If you want more of a relaxed atmosphere stay somewhere else!

Food wasn’t great and expensive

Room was clean and appropriately decorated. Have stayed at this property many times and used to daily attention to the room. Again probably due to staff shortage. The ambience at the resort is one of tranquility and makes it impossible not to feel like you are on vacation. Overall would definitely recommend giving the Inn a chance and planned to stay again in the future

The weather cooperated, which made the experience that much more enjoyable. We are repeat customers and we will return in the fall. We enjoyed the upgrades, such as new chairs and table outside the rooms. The entire facility was spotless! Having to leave.

In addition, although it is a hotel they don’t provide housekeeping services unless you are staying more than 3 nights. And despite saying that you can request amenities from house keeping, which we did, our requests were not provided…had to take out our own trash, grab our own towels and coffee pod refills from housekeeping cart after requesting several times. And finally, this is also something we experienced the last time we stayed, but delivery trucks right under the rooms starting like 7 am and idling for a long time very loud… Unfortunately will not stay here again, will be looking for other places to stay for future Maine summer trips.

It had chairs to look out over the ocean . I loved sitting there and reading and listening to the ocean ! It was on the Marginal Way which I loved as I loved to walk on it. The location was exceptional! I had called twice and when I filled my registration online a few days before I went , I asked to not be in the ground floor as I was traveling alone and I felt safer on a higher floor. Three times and I still was on the ground floor. Called the main office 3 times and no one answers . The room was smaller than shown online and was worn . It left a lot to be desired.

Comfortable , Beautiful surroundings.

The location was fabulous: easy walk to shopping, amazing views of the ocean and walk. Hesitant about restaurant, but decided to go anyway and it was great! Yummy food, fantastic staff, and again with the view. Went back for breakfast. Wish we could’ve stayed longer. Didn’t realize our room was on the “tower” across the street. Tower is only 3 floors and you enter on 2nd. It was no big deal at all, just the only “negative” thing I can think of.

The room was clean and I liked that they still came in to replenish towels on the days they didn’t clean the room

Highly recommended. Great views and walking path nearby. The restaurant and bar also recommended.

Prior to booking, I researched the property and was impressed with the photo showing a full kitchen with large refrigerator, stove, toaster, etc. No such kitchen in our room-dorm refrigerator, no toaster, etc. Seemed like a bait and switch

Close proximity to ocean with everything you'd need. Location and facilities are wonderful. People are friendly and attentive. Food and drinks are what encouraged us here, and the ambiance and everything else made us stay.

We have been staying at Anchorage By the Sea for years as a family. It’s a perfect location, right on Marginal Way with easy access to town and beach. Plenty of parking and great amenities.
