Extended Stay America Suites Kansas City Overland Pk Nall Av

The staff was great. The room was good. My only complaint was there was no water pressure in the shower. Also the room could have been cleaned better. The shades were spotty with stains. The phone didn't work, the lamp on the dresser didn't work. And last the mirror was dirty. I was a maid 40 odd years ago and cleaned 26 rooms a day. First impression is most important for everything.

There was mold all over the bedside table, desk legs, and chair legs. There was what appeared to be animal feces under the beds with mold growing on them. The microwave was warn and filthy. I complained at the front desk but didn’t get anywhere. I took photos but no way to upload them to this review. I picked this location because it was in a very nice area of Kansas City. Do not make the mistake that I did. I will never choose this hotel chain again.

The room wasn't clean when we got there. There was trash in the trash cans. Some trash on the floor and an old bag of carrots in the fridge.

The water pressure was not good.

When checking in, the clerk was yelling at a customer about using their card to access the building. She was extremely unfriendly when I was checking in. The entire hotel smelled like marijuana and cigarette smoke. All the furniture in my room was stained, with what I can only assume was body fluid. In the mornings, there were people in the parking lot who were obviously living out of their cars. If I could give the hotel a zero, I would.

TV remote needed batteries but overall everything was okay.

The hotel was dirty. The floors were so dirty we kept our shoes on. There was mold in the shower. The kitchen was sticky. The sheets were dirty. Had to call front desk for clean sheets and I had to change them myself.

I would absolutely not recommend staying at Extended Stay in Overland Park. From the moment we arrived, the cleanliness of this property was unacceptable. As soon as we walked through the entrance, there was a horrible odor. Unfortunately, things only got worse when we entered our room. The room smelled disgusting and had a strong odor that smelled as though someone had been smoking in it. The bathroom was especially disturbing. There was what appeared to be someone else’s pubic hair on the sink and in the bathtub. The shower curtain was filthy, and there was visible rust around the bathtub faucet that appeared to have simply been painted over rather than properly repaired. The rest of the room was no better. There were ants crawling all over the nightstand, and they even got onto my husband’s cup. The kitchen/island area was covered in grease and clearly had not been properly cleaned. To make matters worse, when my husband went back downstairs to get items from our vehicle, there was a puddle next to the elevator that appeared and smelled like urine. We have no idea whether it was from a person or an animal, but either way, it was disgusting and added to the overall unsanitary condition of the property. The combination of the odors, insects, visible dirt and grease, hair left in the bathroom, filthy shower curtain, and questionable cleanliness throughout the property made this an extremely unpleasant experience. (The only negative is that I wish the staff would be more aggressive with their enforcement of "No Smoking" within 30 feet of the doors. Whenever I'm coming or going, I don't like walking through a cloud consisting of an aromatic cocktail of halitosis, cancer, and ****.)
