My Place Hotel - Overland Park

Walking into lobby, it smelled like dog. The man at the desk was hard to understand. The key to my room wouldn't work. The lady at the desk came to room & took care of it. The floor felt damp & the room was musty.

It was okay for an overnight stay. It seemed to be an older property. Small issues like slow shower drainage and unfilled soap dispensers reflect lack of maintenance. I sensed a staffing shortage. But, the room was clean and comfortable. No breakfast for here - ate at McDonald’s.

Excellent location, close to food, gas, and the freeway You could feel the springs in the bed. The gentleman at the reception desk was rude.

The best, most understanding, and accomodating of the staff members was Tina, Kearstyn, and Lisa. That is the type of staff you should reward!!

Obviously, I replied “No”! So then the attendant said “Well I am going to move you to a 3rd floor Regular Room with 2-beds, and save you $40/ per nt.!!” I would like to participate in the the savings.!!

Didn’t see the pet fee when I booked. But no big deal.

This property has gone downhill overtime. The front desk staff was curt and not proactively helpful. Although there were things at the small market that could be heated in a microwave, there were no plastic utensils available. The room air-conditioning worked, but the room was very humid. The pillows were very lumpy. I used a folded blanket instead. The bathroom was stocked with two toilet paper rolls that were both 75% depleted. Won’t stay here again.

Found mouse droppings in my bed under pillow. The room smelt like dirty feet. No cups or dishes in kitchen.

It was a very nice place to stay overall. Hallways could use some updates but the rooms were clean and pleasant. Staff was very nice and helpful. Close to lots of food options including grocery stores.

Clean room, friendly staff, easy parking, and lots of restaurants and coffee shoos in the parking lot and surrounding area.

Enjoyed our stay and had a great visit..

We checked in with our two 50lb mixed breed dogs; the staff was very helpful and friendly. Our room was clean and the location of this "My Place" had great green space areas for our dogs. I would highly recommend "My Place" for a "dog friendly" hotel that did not have size/weight limitations.

I wasn't sure what to expect from this place (MY PLACE 😆) but it was actually great. As a woman traveling alone, I am always a little wary. I never felt unsafe or out of place. The room was nice and had all the extras that make if comfy. Super clean and cold refrigerator, big microwave, toaster, coffee maker. You can tell its an older place, but not in a run doen way. The only issue I had was the smell of the room. When I checked in, I assumed the smell was from the vacuum cleaner that housekeeping used. Old filters smell like that. But each time the air-conditioning kicked on, the smell got strong. I sprayed the intake with lysol and the smell went away, so I guess it was the a/c filter instead of the vacuum. The bed seemed hard when I say down but it was very comfortable. Overall, I enjoyed this place.

The staff was rude; the police had to be called due to a dispute over clean towels, and we were ultimately told to leave the property for trespassing. Would not recommend this location to others.
