Sonesta Essential Hotels Overland Park

Great hotel in safe area.

The room was clean and the staff were very courteous. This was our second stay at this hotel and both experiences have been very good.

I really didn’t expect much from the property as I was just looking for something low cost to sleep for a few hours but I knew the location was fairly safe so I gave it a shot! The place was nice when you walk into the lobby it smelled pleasant the rooms could be updated to match the modernness of the lobby area but was clean and comfortable nevertheless. I would definitely stay here again.

I couldn’t find any workers who spoke English to find the checkout desk person.

Breakfast was very good. The OJ dispenser was out of order but not a big deal. The staff was friendly and helpful. Overall, this was a great value.

The 3rd floor smelt as if there had been major water damage and was drying out. The carpet felt so dirty I couldn't walk barefoot. I called to get a email receipt and the phone just rings and rings.

Check in was easy. The staff were friendly. Our room was clean,quiet, and had everything we needed for our 2 night stay. There is plenty of parking, and the location was convenient to who we were visiting, restaurants, shopping and activities.

The lobby was very welcoming and nice and clean.

Breakfast left a lot to be desired. Wasn’t expecting much so not overly disappointed.

I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. The entire stay was pretty miserable. We had a family above us whose kids kept running around and we had to call the front desk. The noise did not stop and we ended up getting little sleep. At about 4 in the morning, the garbage truck came and was slamming the trash can around. The room was very poorly renovated and the bathtub would not hold water. It was just a mess, really. And I am disappointed because we stayed in a Sonesta in North Carolina and it was really nice, which is why we chose to stay at this Sonesta. Clearly not all Sonestas are created equal. Choose somewhere else.

Staff were very polite and helpful. Trolley to carry luggage from car to room was very helpful. Check-in and check-out process was very quick and efficient.
