Sonesta Essential Hotels Overland Park

Similar to my last stay bed was great, plenty of hot shower in the shower, breakfast was good. Didn't use pool or exercise so no rating. My only complaint was carpet in our room has heavy chemical it deodorizer residue. Carpet felt sticky, and I made a quick couple steps into carpet after shower to grab my sandals and my feet were burning, enough I had to rewash them and my sandal insoles. Definitely needs a clear water shampoo.

We were treated well by staff, beds were comfortable and clean. It was close to the medical facility I was seeing with food and shopping in the area.

Grandkids enjoyed the pool!

The room was clean and ready when I arrived. It looked just like the picture in the advertisement.

Great hotel on short notice.

The Sonesta Essentials was a great place to stay. It fit our budget needs, the location was very easy to get to and the staff were very friendly. Breakfast was good and the coffee was hot!

It was good clean room for one night and close to proximity to a lot of stuff. We were in town to see a concert at the Starlight Theater.

Room was clean, breakfast was delicious except the eggs(typical hotel eggs), shower was a little bit hazardous, slippery bottom and safety rail while it seems like a good idea, sticks out and kept bumping on it. Beds comfortable.

We arrived at the hotel and checked in our room and when we got to our room the pictures were very misleading. I went to the front desk to change the room bc it didn’t look nothing like I paid for. We rang the bell and no one would come to the desk. We looked all over for the pool and when we finally got to talk to the front desk clerk they told us we had to walk a flight of stairs and take the door out to the pool. The pools picture was also misleading and very small. When we checked in we were not told when breakfast was or when the hours were and missed breakfast. We missed out on the pool and breakfast bc of lack of staff. I will be looking for a refund for my stay.

I read several reviews prior, I thought it was newly remodeled. It was not I probably would not stay there again, but others might like it

There was a leak in my room, We got offered a new room but never got it. Didn't even get any money back for the inconvenience. The room smelled horrible and the carpet was wet. The things i had in the closet all got wet and had to spend money to dry everything.

Clean hotel. Staff was great.

Our room was exceptionally clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, making it easy to relax after a long day. The beds were comfortable, and we appreciated the quiet atmosphere, which made for a great night’s sleep. The hotel’s location was also very convenient, with plenty of restaurants and shopping nearby. Overall, our experience exceeded our expectations, and we would definitely stay here again. We highly recommend the Sonesta Hotel to anyone visiting the Overland Park area. Thank you to the entire team for making our stay so enjoyable!

Our stay at this Property was very good. Staff was great, property was clean and well maintained. No surprises.

The third, I’m very sad to say, I got bed bugs.

First time staying and was a good pick. My room was nice, whole building was clean. Didn't get a chance to swim but next stay for sure.
