Centrella Hotel, A Kirkwood Collection Hotel

Shower went hot to cold both morning. Carpets needed cleaning badly

It's a very old property and it's slowly falling apart. There is some dirt in the corners and window shades etc that don't work..the bed is very comfortable. The breaksaft is convenient and contains of a yoghurt parfait, coffee and some mini muffins and bagels. Nothing fancy but works for hungry kids. I would go out though ;)

My friends and I stayed at this inn for a few days and the location was on point! 10/10 staff was very helpful and the sizing of the rooms exactly what we needed. The property felt very cottage-core. It was very well maintained. The property also was attentive to detail aesthetically. Aside from all that, there was a little bit of confusion on how to have our room cleaned. Despite putting the note on the doorknob to let staff know that we’d like our room cleaned, it wasn’t done. It wasn’t until after a couple days into our stay that we were told that text messages should’ve been sent to us each morning about whether we wanted housekeeping. However, it seemed to be that we hadn’t had that messaging system set up due to us booking the inn via Expedia. So better communication on how we can get our rooms cleaned just needs to be clarified! Other than that, the stay was very pleasant! I’d recommend for anyone wanting to stay in the Monterey area! :)

Room was nice and spacious and clean. I am Not sure but I think there were no USB charging point as we used our adaptors. We did not have breakfast there tho.

The Centrella is in a beautiful Victorian mansion. Each room is decorated in a unique way. The garden is pretty, the staff are nice, the yogurt with fruit and cereal breakfast was good, the bed is comfy, and the wine reception added warmth. I had to wait for several minutes to get hot water in my shower. I didn’t get it in my sink.

In general, the hotel seems it could be better maintained. I expected much more about this hotel, given Kirkwood’s “luxury boutique” claim.

Worst place I have ever stayed, highly recommend yo stay away if you do not want your hard earned Money going down the drain.

Beautiful historic hotel! If you are looking for some modern, cookie-cutter place with all the ammenities...this is not for you! BUT....if you want to enjoy a beautiful, national landmark hotel built in 1889...with all the character and charm of an old victorian intact...this is for you! The smaller rooms in main building don't have fridges or microwaves, and there is no modern air conditioning, but the area is always a pleasant temperature...even in summer. They have a nice continental breakfast (be sure to ask them for a fruit and yogurt parfait)! Coffee, tea, hot cocoa, and water all day, and free glass of wine and fresh cookies at night! The staff are very nice and helpful....Olivia in particular was super sweet!! You can walk anywhere in town from there...one block up to shopping and dining, 2 blocks down to famous lovers point beach area! Limited dedicated hotel parking, but plenty of on street parking all around the building which is free and unrestricted...just try not to arrive between 3-7 on a Monday as this is the weekly Farmer's market and street parking can fill up...but even then, people come and go pretty quickly so should not have to wait long for a place! In short...we had a wonderful stay and would definitely stay there again!

We had an excellent stay! The property was spotless, comfortable, and beautifully maintained. The location was perfect, close to everything we wanted to see while still feeling peaceful and relaxing. The staff was friendly and made our check-in effortless. The room was cozy, the beds were very comfortable and had everything we needed. I would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend Centrella to anyone looking for a charming place to stay in Pacific Grove.
