Kimpton Mirador Pacific Grove Monterey by IHG

Cons : We could feel the floor shake and glasses clink when people walk along the hallway. The bathroom fan can't be turned off. Pricey for a pretty basic stay.

Where it lacked was the finer details. You're supposed to get champagne upon arrival, which the people in front of me were offered upon checking in but not me. The restaurant is expensive, but upon 2 visits, one for breakfast and one for dinner, was not worth it. At dinner we were seated immediately but then not brought water or asked after for 10-15 minutes, despite it not being a busy night. The waiter did acknowledge the wait, took orders, etc. I was served a salmon that, despite a very tasty base, was very undercooked, and by the time the waiter came back to check on us, it was too late to ask for it to be redone. We shared the tombo albacore tuna which at $52 was fine but not exceptional. You pay a daily amenity fee for valet service, as well as gym, beach bags, live music in the courtyard etc. The valet service was always prompt, but I asked for beach bags 3x in the mornings before leaving for the day, and was told there weren't any left. One thing that would have made this hotel a nicer experience is a hot tub. I do appreciate they do not advertise that they have one, but I feel that would be a better amenity

Great hotel in a quite area close to the water!

Dislikes: room wasn’t ready to checkin until 5:30pm, however they deducted amenities fee to apologize

It was a beautiful hotel, the drinks at the restraunt were good

The room was clean. The staff were friendly and helpful. Valet parking was smooth. We also enjoyed our breakfast at the restaurant. Would definitely like to return to this hotel in the future!

Proximity to the ocean

The property is pet friendly. As a dog love this makes me happy. If you are allergic or want to avoid dog hair on your clothes, just be aware. There was a power outage when we arrived at check in time. We were delayed getting into our rooms and the staff were largely busy scrambling to manage without their computer systems etc. we were not offered any light compensation as a result of the delays getting settled in so perhaps that can be added to the Kimpton hospitality playbook. Despite the added stress, the staff were friendly and as accommodating as they could be. The location is convenient to everything and having the valet service added to the compulsory resort fees means you have easy access to Monterey and Carmel as well.

Paid equilant to a 4 star hotel but I would rate it as a 2 star

Amazing staff and beautiful hotel

Minimalist hotel. Room lacked furniture. 2 drawers. No dresser drawers. Small table with 2 dinette chairs. No chairs or sofa to watch TV. Liked private toilet and walk in shower. Fireplace was nice.

Property is really clean and sophisticated. There is wine/ cocktail hour from 5-6pm which was so lovely. Check in was quick and easy and the rooms were spacious and elegant. They offered pet supplies if we needed. :) My only complaint was our bathroom faucet didn’t have any running hot water at all. The Gym was well equipped and the staff was so friendly. Will definitely stay there if I’m ever in Monterey again.

It was an amazing stay. Close to beach. Great amenities and social hour. And the staff was super professional and attentive.

it's a 3 month old new hotel located at a beautiful, quaint, convenient town of Pacific Grove. a few blocks away from Lover's point, close to Monterey Aquarium, many restaurants. We very much enjoyed our 5-night stay. Will definitely come back.

Nice room, very clean and modern looking. For the price, I would expect more (and I have received more elsewhere in the vicinity). I was caught off guard by the $60 "resort fee" after getting suckered into thinking I was getting a better deal. I'm not sure what the "property fee" covered.
