But overall place was super unique and cool and romantic vibes. I would stay here again if I'm ever lucky enough to visit the area again

Great place to stay definitely come back

This B&B was very charming and walking distance to everything in Pacific Grove. The staff were super polite and friendly. Very nice wine and cheese in the afternoon and a perfect continental breakfast with top-notch breads and yogurt and more we would definitely return.

I would absolutely recommend The Charles Inn, the stay was great and I really enjoyed the location.

The room and entire Inn was very clean. I am very selective about a places cleanliness and The Charles was excellent, bathrooms were spotless. Public spaces were just beautifully designed and furnished providing the guests with a wonderful history of the property and the wonderful town of Pacific Grove. We had off street parking that was enclosed which made packing in and out of the property very easy. Breakfasts were excellent with a good variety of fruit, yogurt, eggs. Cookies and wine were offered in the evening and cocktail hour respectively. Just made for a wonderful stay.

Location was great to explore the Monterrey Coast and the surrounding area. Breakfast staff were wonderful! Room and Inn were clean. Breakfast- I would suggest making homemade quiche and maybe some muffins instead of store bought pastries and quiche. No variety- we stayed 3 days and food was pretty much the same. Evening wine and snacks were disappointing. I was expecting a higher quality for breakfast and happy hour wine/snacks for the price we paid for our room. Street noise was loud at times.

The staff was absolutely lovey and the evening happy hour and breakfast were first class. We will definitely stay again!

Loved EVERYTHING about this property. We were on a vacation by car with many hotel stays and this wa by far our favorite. It was amazing and special. Staff was so kind and helpful. The welcome snacks, wine and fresh-baked cookies in the evening were a great opportunity to meet other travelers. The breakfast in the morning was absolutely delicious and reminded us of a European breakfast. Loved the room, the ambiance, the public spaces and everything about our stay here. Loved the proximity to shops, restaurants and ability to walk to downtown Monterey. It was definitely well worth the money we spent. Also they are dog friendly! The only possible issue was the limited on-site parking but it ended up working out okay.

A hidden gem in Pacific Grove. The property is beautiful, clean, and even more charming in person—the photos don’t do it justice. I especially enjoyed the delicious breakfast and the late afternoon snacks, which were such a thoughtful touch. The staffs were attentive, welcoming, and made the stay feel relaxing.

Wonderful stay. Beautiful house with private parking. Paula was very helpful. The wine and snacks at 4:30 pm and hot cookies at 7 pm were great as was breakfast.

We loved our stay at The Charles! We had The Buck suite at the top and four of us slept comfortably in its two beds and sofa bed. If someone were very tall, they might be less comfortable, but we found it delightful. Good breakfast and hospitality hour too, excellent coffee and juices, all thoughtfully laid out. We hope to be back!
