The Franklin on Rittenhouse, A Boutique Hotel

Loved the retro atmosphere and the art deco type room. the bar at the hotel was like a speak easy which was really cool

This was my first stay in this exceptional boutique hotel in a fabulous location just off Rittenhouse Square in Center City Philadelphia. While the accommodations and the ambiance of this small hotel are top notch, the incredibly attentive staff made the experience so enjoyable. The rooms aren't large, but they are well appointed and cozy. The continental breakfast was exceptional (they had me at smoked salmon.) They do add an amenities charge to your bill (their version of a resort fee) I'm not sure what amenities they are charging for, there is no housekeeping except upon request (and they are eager to fulfill all requests.) Otherwise, it's like many hotels, an excuse to advertise a lower room rate and then add on to it. I won't penalize them for this as it's unfortunately a common practice. I will definitely return to The Franklin On Rittenhouse and I highly recommend it.

Such a great property, the staff are lovely. The only reason why I rated lower than a 5 was the shower pressure. It was so bad. It was actually funny. It made it very difficult to wash your hair.

The main problem, though, was the noise. The air conditioning units were very noisy, and there was no controls available to turn them off. So despite the fine bed, we slept horribly. And then, there was construction beginning at 7, right outside the window.

Perfect location. Wonderful, friendly staff. Comfortable,spotless rooms where everything works. Nice continental breakfast with good coffee.

Needed more hooks to allow for storage especially in bathroom. We had a small storage cupboard but didn’t use it as it was dirty. Pros: great location. Good bathroom/ shower fittings. It’s a good little place - just a bit more care around the cleaning.

Staff was great, however, the rooms need to be updated and cleaned better. Paint peeling off walls in bathroom, floors, curtains dirty - not well kept. Only 2 sets of towels for 3 guests? The breakfast was nothing to write home about, and the plates and utensils were not properly cleaned which is an immediate turnoff. On the positive side, the location is convenient, parking nearby was fine, and the staff was helpful. But overall, for what we were charged, we expected a lot more.

What a hidden gem. I can’t wait to return.

This boutique hotel is so unique and not like the mass hotel rooms from the big chains. Perfect location and super friendly staff. My only complaint was that since the building is pretty old, I had a hard time getting hot water in the shower without the pipes rattling, but, it was tolerable.

Great location. The staff was friendly and accommodating. Great that there is a proper door on the bathroom (not a slider) and off the living room rather than the bedroom. The place wasn’t all that clean. The furniture was not very comfortable.

So conveniently located and quiet. The bed was SOOO comfortable. The pillows, mattress and sheets were fantastic. I need to know where to get them. Love that you are dog friendly. Breakfast was a nice easy touch. Front desk staff were lovely
