Holiday Inn Airport - Portland by IHG

We had a very late check in due to delayed flights. Although we had let staff know, we arrived after 2am and were almost denied our reservation. The night manager was very helpful and courteous and was able to assist us in completing our reservation. Accommodations were wonderful even though the building having some renovations done. Very close to the airport and convenient to the city. We would stay again.

The hotel provided airport shuttle service was on-time and very helpful.

Proximity to the Airport

Close to the airport. Rooms are dated. Wallpaper peeling. Only one queen bed in a small room. No complimentary breakfast option.Flight arrived late, so we checked in at 2am. They told us that we should have called ahead to let them know that we were going to be late.

The hotel is beginning to show it's age & could use a little love, but it was very convenient to the airport and very clean & comfortable. The staff was great.

Old, tired, dark. Needs a refresh. Lamp did not work

The only real drawback was that our room backed onto the elevator shafts, so we could hear the elevators moving throughout our stay. Keeping the fan running helped cover the sound, although it was a bit loud while I was working at the desk right in front of it. We also noticed quite a bit of hallway light coming in around the door. Because of where the bed was positioned, the light shone directly into my eyes. Fortunately, placing a towel along the bottom of the door took care of it. The airport shuttle was especially convenient, and the drivers were very kind. Overall, I would be happy to stay here again—I would just ask for a room farther away from the elevators next time.

clean - all items in the appropriate place, cups, cute microwave and any other items needed the plugs on the lamps in my room did not work and they may need to be checked and the tub water backed and that may be only a quick hair plunge, but otherwise - just perfect. quite convenient and priced just right.

Beds were good, location was perfect. Slightly older bathrooms and carpet is a bit old.

Exceptional

The staff and shuttle drivers were amazing. That the curtains were sheer and there was no blackout curtians and i had to use paperclips to pull the sides panels together to block out the light.

Hotel is doing some improvements, but they are long overdue. The comforters were stained. Bathroom ceiling looked like it was about to cave in.

Check in was flawless. Krystal was very nice and knowledgeable. My issue was the next morning. We received an aggressive knock on the door, when I stated no thank you, there was another aggressive knock, followed by an angry male voice saying to "open the door!" I slightly opened the door and said no thank you again, for the 4th time and he left. This scared us and made it impossible to go back to sleep which was horrible.
