The rooms have very thin walls. The room next to us was screaming very loudly starting at 3am and the hotel did nothing to help the situation. The balconies are non smoking but the room next to us were smoking all day and night. There were at least 20 cigarette butts on the balcony. We coul

Love this hotel, I visit family a few times a year and always stay here. Beautiful property, clean rooms and wonderful staff. Love the views of the river also. Very clean and well kept and I’d highly recommend!

The rooms are very spacious

The floors were absolutely filthy. I cleaned up spilled water on the tile floor with a white towel and the towel turned black! Same with my socks, I walked around on the tile and carpet and after a few steps, my lavender socks were black. The room had a dirty musty odor. I'm officially done with Holiday Inn.

Clean room with a beautiful river view

Disappointed with our stay. Booked the room through Hotels.Com...when we got to the hotel they said it did not include breakfast (as it had said when we booked). They would not honor the booking with breakfast included. We also had a barking dog in the room next door (both evenings). Heat did not work in our room and had to put on layers to sleep. The room and entire building looked well worn and tired. The view of the river was beautiful out our window despite the windows looking like they hadn't been cleaned for months.

The hotel smelled musty, specially the room. The balcony was dirty. The view was beautiful.

Beautiful view of the river. Clean, comfortable room.

Staff was very nice. Spacious lobby and restaurant. Room was clean. Love the location - a hop skip over the bridge to Vancouver riverfront. The buildings are older and weathered a little, but it's right on the water and feels nice.

Fire alarm went off and the hotel staff were unaware. There was a big convention during our stay, and many of their attendees made us feel uncomfortable. When concerns were brought up to the front desk, we felt blown off.

All of my staff interactions were good--people were helpful and friendly. The pool area was great--lots of seating options. Pool and hot tub temperatures were perfect. The bar/restaurant was over-priced for what you get. The room was nice; very large. I would have rated the hotel higher were it not for a couple of things: the aforementioned overpriced restaurant/bar and the sheer distance we had to walk to get to the pool area (I have mobility issues). We had another issue, which is not the fault of the hotel, but I wished it had been handled more quickly: there was an excessive noise level from a wedding party whose suite was across the hall from us. I called the front desk at 1:00 AM due to the sounds of fighting, yelling, running, etc. in the hallway. I know this is not the fault of the hotel, but I don't know how the issue was handled, if it was handled, or if the party just wound down. I think notes could have been taken about my call, so that someone could have addressed the issue at check out.

Outdoor pool was great!

Being on Hayden Island was very nice in relationship to the city of Portland. The view from our room balcony looked out at the Columbia River. We enjoyed the breakfasts every morning. Full menu and good service. The AC in our room was so-so. The room also smelt a little mildewy. The hallway by our room and elevator did not seem to have much AC as well. Overall, for the price, we were satisfied.

Extremely disappointed with the way this hotel was presented online. Upon check-in we had been excited as we paid for the upgrade luxury riverfront room, it was at the FAR FAR end of hotel on opposite of pool and amenities, and the construction below was an eyesore. Staff was super kind and accommodating, to change room, but it got worst. Our upgrade was not refundable as a 3rd party, so we got a standard room and it was above the pool. The pool was overfilled with kids screaming and the room was filthy, smelt like old cigarettes with crumbs in chairs and dust all over like it hadn’t seen a cleaner at all- I contacted expedia and they refunded my in full even after check in based. I will say the staff tried their best to make us happy, gave us food credits and wanted us happy, but ultimately they could not change what was so upsetting to get us to want to stay. I will never return or stay here. We ended up staying DT portland, since the hotels accross the water on the vancouver waterfront were booked, but in the end it all worked out. This hotel needs some major renovations and updates, and their prices should reflect what too get, which was not the case at $630 for two nights. That’s insane when what you get is more like a hotel 6. I hope this helps them improve, but again the staff was kind and did their best. Sorry to leave a review like this.
