Courtyard by Marriott Portland North

There was an issue at check in, they over booked and didn’t have a room for me at first. (I had booked a month in advance). The rooms were spacious and had what you needed. Unfortunately the pool was dirty and not well kept.

Juan at the front desk was funny and helpful! We appreciated him.

Wonderful location

The staff was actually kinda rude, from the front desk who checked us in to random staff that walked by, I was surprised by that. Not sure if it’s just the way Portland is as a whole? The guy working down at the cafe was nicer, he was filling in for someone else. The room said it could fit 6 people online , but when we checked in it only slept 5. One of my kids had to make a bed on the floor. Glad we only stayed 1 night. The parking was horrible! The underground parking should only be for compact cars, thankfully no one parked next to us so we were able to get in and out.

The outdoor patio, pool, and gym was great! The room is clean and spacious. The hotel is located in a tight location. Maybe that’s just how Portland is? Everywhere in Portland we went was tight. The parking is located in the basement so it feels secured. There’s really no access to the riverfront.

The hotel is great, staff is super nice. I LOVED the courtyard area was awesome. Parking was AWFUL!! Don't go if you drive a full size pickup!

The front desk staff and housekeeping staff were nice and professional and took our feedback well, which is important.

Great Room

The location is pretty, I enjoy the courtyard area. The parking lot, was left unlocked overnight along with the entry to the hotel from the parking lot despite needing a key card to get in.

The biggest issue at this hotel is they don’t serve breakfast. There is a bar and a Starbucks and that was it.

Exceptional

Nice view from my window. Smelling bad from toilet. I asked steel water bottle and it was out of stock. The rooms doors closed with sound late at night. I paid extra for the breakfast. I asked bacon but it was finished !!!

After we made the reservations, we called to make sure they have a shuttle to the airport. They said yes - then we called back to see if it was complimentary and they said yes. When we got there there was no shuttle. They said there are 3 Courtyard by Marriott and only 1 has a shuttle but we called the one connected to the address we went to.

Clean and well maintained, just not much value for the price. Breakfast is not included and was quite expensive if purchased on site. Parking is $15 per day and unavoidable since there are few restaurants or other businesses within walking distance. No housekeeping service during our 4 day stay (we didn’t request any).
