Reviews

The hotel was clean and was close to the venue we were going to
-
Lovely period hotel with gracious staff and convenient location in Downtown Portland.
-
Beautiful, historic hotel. Great staff and service. And pet friendly! Very nice gym. We had a maintenance issue that was fixed immediately. The room was clean but did have some stains on the carpets. Being downtown is mixed- it was great being near Powell’s Books and Stumptown coffee but it doesn’t feel entirely safe and parking is a fortune!
-
Good location for going to a show at the Roseland Theater.
-
Awesome stay! The staff was so nice and everything was just ideal! Shout out to Catherine and Bobby for excellent service in the restaurant! Thank you!!!

The hotel is clean and comfortable and staff are professional and accommodating. The windows are operable, a real plus. Parking is an issue. We parked in the ProPark garage on the next block advertising $8/day and got charged $28 instead. Now have to dispute the charge. Bathrobes must be requested. I miss the beautiful antique card playing tables that used to be in the old Benton lobby, but at least there are a couple of 4-seat tables on the mezzanine if you want to play a game of bridge.

This is my first time visiting the property since before Covid, so my memory might be bad. It seems a little less cared for in some respects. A major popcorn spill at the lobby elevators sat unattended for longer than I would like. The front desk staff were young. The Palms breakfast staff might need some of that youth infusion! The room was comfortable but for very large corner room the bathroom was very undersized.

-
Nice location from which to explore Portland.
-
The parking was well none around, 60$ night for valet parking which they were good at, rooms very out dated tho, they didn’t offer WiFi, staff is normally a lot more helpful when we arrive but had to ask for things instead of them offering to tell us we’re the restaurant and bars in the hotel was, and if your on the right side of the hotel then you’ll be hearing the extremely loud Trash truck banging the trash cans and having its loud beeping every morning at 5:15am. Other than that the location was great.. lol wouldn’t stay here again..
-
The valet was helpful in explaining how to use the service, the breakfast at the Palm Court restaurant offered a varied menu and the room was quiet and clean.
-
Unique and beautiful common rooms.

The lobby was incredible. We especially loved the stairway museum. Every little detail of the architecture enchanted us the whole time !
