Loved the low tech heating/cooling system with on/off switch, choices for fan, etc. Could use more breakfast options including a bit of fruit

ing I'll never stay there again There was something all over one of the beds that looked like blood the cleaner had to of seen it ... And the ac was terrible it was 90 outside and 70in the room.. They offered me another room but I was so grossed out I wanted to leave I asked for a refund and they refused took my number said a manager would call me they never did... I will never be back non will I ever stay at a howard Johnsons again

Location Only smoking area out front at entrance. People drinking & smoking as guests arrive is not a good first impression

A nice stay for a couple days. Not quite as clean or friendly as stays in the past, so I will likely stay elsewhere next visit.

Good half way point on our way to Acadia. Very noise people on our floor. Too much door slamming! Otherwise not bad.

Very very clean hotel, including the public areas. The breakfast area is spotless. We've stayed two times and both times the breakfast area was well attended to. The grounds are also well attended to. It was our go to when we were in Portsmouth.

Staff member on check in was unhelpful and obviously did not want to be there. Otherwise breakfast was good, rooms were super clean. Staff in the morning were much happier and helpful. Location was good with a car to Portsmouth. Parking was great.

My wife and I arrived at 9:30pm and the staff was great.

Staff was very friendly and the room was clean. The bed was very comfy.

We had our choice of 2 juices, breakfast sandwiches, cereal and bread product. Wonderful…like that it was not all sweets for breakfast! It was clean and stocked. Check was painless with Oliver! He greeted us with enthusiasm and a smile! Check, again…2 men at the desk, were very polite and pleasant! Possibly some fresh fruit could have been offered.
