The place needs some remodeling the bathroom shower curtain is gross. Bathroom is very small but room is spacious and comfortable. Heating was not working and it was very cold

Overall great experience. Need to keep I. Mind the hotel is historic. Similar to hotels in Europe. Dining is closed on Sunday and Monday.

I think a small coffee maker in the rooms instead of instant coffee would definitely be a plus in some kind of readily available food on the property for late night and breakfast not pastries at Poindexter Cafe Real Food

Unique brand

Bottom line, the hotel common areas and the rooms, at least my room, all looked and smelled like they were constructed over 50 years old. This property---in a great, central location in downtown Providence BTW---is in desperate need of a gut rehab. I won't stay there again, unless or until they refurbish the entire property.

No valet parking

Check-in was delayed, appeared to be understaffed. The delay was about an hour, so I had to cancel my dinner reservation at one of the finest steakhouses in Providence. Stayed in one of the suites, sub-par condition, bathroom was also very small for the size of the unit. Will not be returning.

Old fashioned hotel with vintage style. Clean and cozy.

The bathroom smelled of mildew, there was no vent in the bathroom I think it was the shower curtain. Other than that, it was a really cool hotel.

Excellent location for this very historic Hotel. Middle of downtown, close to Brown, RI School of Design & Johnson & Wales.

Hotel was generally nice, clean and staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel did need some maintenance. And the sheets needed changing when we arrived. The maid service just left new sheets on the bed (they didn’t know we wanted them to make the bed). When the room was cleaned, they removed the used wash cloths, but neglected to leave fresh ones until we contacted the front desk, The biggest issue (because it could have been easily remedied) was the coffee shop staff who were less than helpful. At breakfast we were told they ran out of milk. It is a coffee shop. And a guest in the “dog friendly” hotel tried to place a Togo coffee order at the same coffee shop in the hotel while her little dog was on a leash. Basically they argued & said she couldn’t bring her dog in and they didn’t feel it would be hospitable to walk 15 feet to the entry (from the dog friendly hotel) to take her order. She left until I volunteered to held her dog leash (in the dog friendly hotel) while she walked the 15 feet to place her order. Then a man with a much larger dog just strolled in, ordered and sat down on the cafe with his dog. He apparently lied and said his dog was a service dog (no vest)-he does it all the time. “No problem “.

Great place for history being 100+ years old, mind you they supply box fans in the room because of the older ac parking is expensive plus tax’s and fees 2 days was 119$

Love to stay at this unique hotel in a building with lots of history.

Centrally located. Very clean. Extremely comfortable bed. Great shower pressure.

It was okay. Not amazing for the price. No bell man, not many amenities, kind of smells.
