Hotel Providence

Good location for downtown Providence - walking distance to many attractions. The “book hotel” theme as advertised on booking.com did not match the reality. We were expecting a literary experience, or at least a few books in our room (there were none) and the lobby (a few random books).

Handy location and good value for money. Some people may be put off by homeless shelter outside, but no problems my side.

A great location, the staff was all very friendly. Sebastian was a delight!

The Hotel Providence was quaint, classic, cozy and well located. We were able to walk to great dining, cool shops, the river, parks and the theater. We were able to bring our little dogs and there were lots of doggie treats in lobby. We loved the 24 hour coffee/tea/ice fruit water stations. We also loved the abundance of homemade fresh cookies that never ran out. Our room had beautiful views of the old church and arts district. It was better than I expected! I would have like an option to stream my favorite apps - such as Netflix on the tv. Smart tv is always a smart investment.

I would definitely stay here again. It is in the heart of downtown and a very nice hotel. The room was perfect for us. It is across the street from a church that provides food for the unhoused population, but they didn't bother us. I felt comfortable walking around at night and during the day.

Pretty hotel with nice rooms and comfy beds. Staff was friendly. Valet was convenient though a bit pricey. Was only there for one night but what I experienced was great!

The food is delicious. They gave me a reduced rate for an extra night, when the weather prevented us from leaving on time. The wait staff at the restaurant was fantastic particularly Apryl who was sweet and accommodating. The lobby and front desk staff were amazing. And our room was beautifully reset each day by the room cleaners. The TV in the main room didn’t work.

The valet parking was reasonable and the service was quick The bed was uncomfortable. Due to the layout of the rooms and doors close to each other, the room was quite noisy

The hotel Providence is elegant. The room was beautiful with the most comfortable bed. The staff was helpful. I enjoyed my short stay, and love to visit in the future.

Old dated property. No amenities. Close to Amtrak was only reason I booked it.

The Hotel Providence is described as being a boutique hotel, that's just a nice word for old. The hotel is located directly across the street from a homeless outreach center. Everyday, all day and night people in need are just gathered on the street/sidewalks In front of the center making walking uncomfortable. I was asked for money several times. The hotel has a valet service which on their website is listed as $40 per night, but they charged $45 per night. They also overcharged me for the room, they added the sales tax to the daily room charge and then taxed me on the totals, when I brought this to their attention they said they have never seen this happen before and were unsure how it happened. They credited me back the difference and also the difference in the parking fee charge. I don't believe the excuses, if they did that to me they did it to everyone. There are so many better hotel options in the area, I'm so disappointed in my decision to stay here.
