Reviews

The location is very convenient.
-
This is a lovely, old-fashioned hotel with large rooms and very good amenities. It’s conveniently located to walk to Brown and RISD, and many good shops, restaurants, and coffee shops. Staff are very helpful and friendly, and valet staff are especially diligent and accommodating. There’s noticeable wear here and there —in elevator, for example—but nothing that bothered us. Walking down the street takes one through a gauntlet of hangers-out but almost all are behaving—just very “downtown.”

Good location Some people sleeping in the streets in front of the hotel

staff was very friendly and helpful.

I had an excellent stay at Hotel Providence. The customer service was outstanding --- everyone was welcoming, helpful, and attentive throughout my visit, The room was spacious, comfortable, and well maintained. The location was fantastic for exploring the area. I truly enjoyed my stay and would absolutely come back again!
-
I liked fruits, cookies, and tea in the mornings. Fitness room needs air ventilation.
-
Nice older hotel downtown. Did not explain the need for overnight parking would be 45.00 dollars or would be towed.
-
Great spot to stay for a quick business trip in Providence. Rooms are bright and clean, staff is friendly, and you can't beat the location.
-
It was clean comfortable and safe. Front desk staff friendly and helpful was handed a paper bag with a few snacks. Very traditional decor like a old mansion not modern at all. Had a small fridge and a coffee maker very basic. They offered a continental breakfast and a regular breakfast lunch and dinner service on certain days. I didn't get to either breakfast because my concert was in Foxborogh. I flew in and out of Boston Logan really far away from Foxborogh and Providence. Hotel, uber and lyft rates are better in Providence a college town location.

Friendly staff. Cookies in lobby were great. Room was clean and comfortable. valet was expensive and didn't realize there was a (cheaper) lot across the street. Room was very dark. Windows faced a brick wall and the lighting was bad. No space in restroom to put belongings or hang anything (one hook on door) Requested a suite online and never heard back. Elevator was broken for a full day. Restaurant was understaffed and could not get breakfast.
-
location way over priced for how filthy the room was hair all over the bathroom floor, hair all over the towels, used contact lenses, numerous flies in the bathroom. missing light bulbs won't be returning

This was a beautiful hotel decorated in oid world charm. The staff was friendly and the hotel was clean and well maintained. The hotel was in a convenient location to Johnson and Wales and the downtown area. Nice place for a visit to Providence.
-
Great hotel, lovely room.
-
This hotel is conveniently situated and the staff was friendly but the decor is dated and could use some freshening.
-
Breakfast was non existent and the restaurant was dark and uninviting. We went down the street for good coffee and breakfast. The tile was broken in the elevator in several pieces and was a tripping hazard . The room was small with just a desk chair to sit in beside the bed. Lobby needs an update chairs and sofas where saggy. The lobby needs updated . Valet parking was slow and cost $45 to park per day. Definitely will pick a different place to stay the next time unfortunately. Buyer beware!

Valet staff was very good. Front desk gentleman who checked us in was very nice but other staff were just ok. Lots of homeless just outside front door. No fresh water in lobby. It was ok but not great. The room was spacious.
