Spark by Hilton Roanoke Airport

A good hot breakfast was advertised but all they had was a bagel bar. Room had a weird humid smell. The bed smelled like stale playdoh. They charged for parking (which they did not mention before hand) despite having a huge parking lot. There were a lot of bees outside in the front parking area which should be properly maintained in case children are playing outside. The only good part about our stay was the lady at the check in who was so kind and so awesome and answered all of our questions. I don’t recall her name but she was so great.

I liked the location. I didn't like the strong acid odor that started coming into my room my second week there. There was one front desk clerk very helpful. The parking was good. I did have a charge to my account after I checked in. The charge was done on a Sunday. No one would explain why? I had to ask for toilet paper and the General Manager acted as if I had insulted her for asking. The staff handling the breakfast bar and coffee bar was very helpful and kind.

Our stay was good, bed was comfortable. Pillows not so great. A pool would have been good, something for the kids to do. A big problem for me was I feel all dogs you remain from the lobby area around when breakfast is being served and people eating. Overall no complaints from us

TY Christine in frontdesk that make A+communication via Hilton app before arrival to make us feel secure. All the team was super nice and available. Spatious róoms free 24/7coffee, gym, good breakfast or on the go bags, new hotel, perfectly located near airport with 24/7 free shuttle.

No coffee maker in room. Hot water didn’t work at all the first day. Apparently this is an on going problem and should be corrected once and for all. Very inconvenient not to have a shower for our business trip. Breakfast was muffins and bagels, nothing hot. Hotel is clean and quiet.

Customer Service …. Good or great … can win you over unless everything else fails! Spark was very good considering the low price. In our case, it was just a stop over to get to another town. We flew in on the new American Airlines service DFW to ROA — Roanoke Airport. It’s a late flight to ROA so by the time we landed and the free shuttle by Hilton picked us up, we didn’t get in our room until midnight. There was no hot water at the hotel but by the next morning there was hot water so that’s not a complaint! I think they got their issue figured out and repaired. We also stayed one night on the way back to DFW. It’s kind of a bare bones hotel room, but it was very clean. It was an old hotel that was gutted and renovated. The Hilton shuttle service to and from the airport is extremely helpful although it’s not always available right when you need it, there are six Hilton hotels using the shuttle service. Still, because of the price, renovation and the cleanliness we probably would stay again for a night or two.

The continental breakfast was not what was expected. Was looking for more protein base like scrambled eggs, bacon, or sausage. Not too many cereals. Thanks!

Clean room, helpful staff. I asked if there were complimentary toothbrushes and toothpaste which I received. After the visit I learned that they were in fact not “complimentary,” meaning free. Wouldn’t have gotten it had I known that. Otherwise, it was a good experience.

Nice clean property. Would definitely stay again. The only thing I wish they had was regular half and half for my coffee in the morning. Everything else was good.
