Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Rocky Mount

This hotel included all the primary amenities: free parking, free Wi-Fi, free breakfast, indoor fitness center and pool, and the convenience to I-95 and U.S. 64 and easy access to restaurants, stores, and a close hospital. The hotel staff had great customer service and provided solid recommendations for things in the area. However, there were a few strange orders in the common areas and in the hotel room itself. Other than that, a very quiet and comfortable stay.

Staff was helpful and attentive

Room and entry were clean enough. Room was tired - like missing baseboard pieces. Worst was the bathroom door that didn’t close and the very very low water pressure in the shower. Check in (manual) was easy as hotel didn’t have access to check in electronically. She was very patient. We would Have checked out if we expected to stay another night.

Just ok, first room was smell pesticide , second room had gum on the sheet, bit too tired to deal with it. The computer system was down so no check in with price or folio. Tv didn’t work since systems were down and the pool doesn’t open till 10 am. So no morning swim . Breakfast was minimal compared to other Fairfield’s, just eggs and bacon, no potatoes, etc.

Beds were comfy. Staff was friendly.

Well kept building and comfortable room. Price paid was competitive with the surrounding hotels. All front desk staff were inattentive and basically not supportive to the guests needs. Pool hours were very short, 10am to 8pm. Lobby coffee ends with breakfast. The WiFi was difficult to logon. No pool towels. No printer ink. Was difficult to get hot water. Couldn’t get access to gym, gave up waiting for someone at the front desk to be present.

The rooms were great! Spacious and clean!

Our room smelled like fertilizer.

I'm Muslim , and even though they had turkey sausage it was still in the same container as the pork sausage. Turkey isn't on the menu everyday. Everything else was excellent

I typically do not leave negative reviews because everyone can have a bad day. However, this was likely my worst stay in the last 30 years and I travel a reasonable amount. Positives: the staff was friendly and truly trying and breakfast was what you would expect. Negatives: Wi-fi down and TV with no signal. Fitness center out of order. Room was very musty and floor smelled of cigarettes. Motor home and a truck with trailer each taking several parking spaces so insufficient parking for guests. Large group of men from motor home smoking weed in parking lot. I’ll stop here. Other guests had worse experiences (their story to tell). Seems like a management issue and something Marriott should assess. Atypical of the Fairfield Inn brand. Never had these issues at a Hampton or Homewood though. There are options and this has soured me on Fairfields although I know this isn’t the norm.

Location WiFi was not working during stay. Unable to call front desk for rowdy guests

The hotel is new and although a restaurant ls planned, it was not included on this trip.

location no AC working in common areas, no ice machines working on any floor. whole hotels smells like smoke. Inside room , it was boiling hot and smelling as AC was not turned on before arrival.. Horrible stay! no refiling in breakfast area .

The ice machines were not working, the wifi was down the first night I was there.

Room was very humid and there was an intense bad smell in the hallway

No toothpaste or lotion. House keeping tried to enter before 11 and kept knocking

Overall, my stay was very pleasant. Check-in was quick and easy, and I appreciated that the front desk staff clearly explained all additional fees upfront, so there were no surprises. One of the best perks was that parking was free, with plenty of spaces available. There were also several restaurants and food options nearby, which made it very convenient. The room was clean, and the staff was friendly, welcoming, and helpful throughout my stay. I would definitely consider staying here again and would recommend it to others looking for a comfortable and hassle-free stay.

The staff was very nice and courteous. There were ants in the crack of the widow, the pool felt like ice. I literally got a headache. There is no warmer. The pool hours ended super early at 8pm. The bed needs to be more comfortable. Need a bigger trash can.
