Holiday Inn Express & Suites Salinas by IHG

The bathroom has a nasty odor smell that makes me want to throw up. The phone in the room doesnt work.. I had to go to the front desk and ask if I can change room but they were fully booked and asked if house keeper can come clean the bathroom. Front desk said they'll send someone... no one ever showed up. Glad I only stayed a night. Will not be returning.

Hospitable, friendly, courteous staff and very clean property with a nice location overlooking the Gabilan Range and agriculture.

The bed was great! I specifically chose this location due to laundry facilities but there was only 1 washer and 1 dryer and the laundry room closed at 10 pm. Also, the front desk person was missing for 5+ minutes without a notice.

Ok checking in was a terrible experience. Guy was rude and unprofessional. When asked about housekeeping I said no we will just put our trash can out the door to be emptied. This is something we do at every place we stay and have done my whole life. This guy told me no I can’t do that and went on to say someone’s kids could play in the trash. I replied well they better have a good reason not to be watching their kids if they’re playing in trash. His reply was no ma’am that’s not the right answer. There was other incidents with this guy and the person working with him just watched. Thankfully a woman in the morning was professional and helpful. FYI they don’t take cash which it does NOT say that on their site or on hotels.com. It’s a privately owned HI that does not have the usual system as the corporate ones. We will never stay here again. Also didn’t realize the hotel is surrounded by prostitution and drugs.

Thin walls. Every single noise echoes through the building. Be prepared for no sleep midnight to 5 am.

Only 1 elevator could cause issue when its packed but it was working during my visit

The hotel was extremely clean and well maintained. The staff was friendly and helpful. Used the gym and took advantage of the free continental breakfast. We were very pleased with this hotel!

Great place to stay if you’re visiting the northern coast.
