Residence Inn by Marriott Salinas Monterey

Our suite was spotless and had everything we needed, including a fully equipped kitchen. The refrigerator, bathroom, couch, and entire room were exceptionally clean and well maintained. The complimentary breakfast was delicious, with a great selection of eggs, potatoes, sausage, yogurt, oatmeal, cereal, toast, and juice. Everything was fresh, clean, and well organized. The hotel is in a quiet area, making it the perfect place to relax and get a good night's sleep. We highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay here again!

The hotel room was ok. We had asked for a few extra towels which never came. We asked for body soap to be replenished 3x and it never was delivered. The hot tub was broken, the fire pit wouldn’t turn on and the people above us stomped around all the time.

The breakfast wasn't really good and the coffe was not good either. The rest looks ok but nothing like the photos that expedia show online. Is never like the picture. Thanks McCarthy family

Staff was very friendly and the place was clean. The rooms were clean but outdated. I had a suite and I think both TVs were from the 1900s. It was preferable to watch TV / YouTube / streaming services on my small tablet. The couch in the " living room" was not comfortable unless sitting in the middle seat. The bed was very comfortable.

The front desk did not mention that we would not receive housekeeping over the two nights we spent at this location in Salinas. Although the beds were comfortable, our room faced the inner courtyard which was very noisy due to the hotel fans directly below us.(3rd floor) Our dishwater was leaking when we used it the first night. No house keeping, clean towels and garbage removal was done during our stay of 2 nights Our Unit was a suite ( 1 King and 1 Queen bedroom) with a stove and fridge and microwave. Very poor quality pots and pans with only a very few utensils of extreme poor quality. Certainly not our expectation for a Residence Marriott chain Hotel We paid over $300 USD per night We would never stay here again

The pool was nice. It’s in a good location. Parking comped for long wait time at check in. The door to the room/building didn’t have a working keycard reader. People were propping the door open, anyone can just go in and out of the premises. There was no one available for check in for at least 20 minutes even after calling to make sure a late (10:30pm) check in could be accommodated. Paid parking was not advertised properly. The room was not cleaned fully before check in. There were dirty rags in the bathtub, the furniture was all moved and wasn’t vacuumed. The king suite does not have a king bed, the room had a full bed. The toilet paper was not refilled when the room was cleaned.

Very disappointed. The rooms were extremely dirty—I had to change rooms upon check-in due to an unclean kitchen, and the second room was just as bad. There was mold in the bathroom and rust on the bathtub. The rooms look nothing like the photos online. When I reported this at checkout, the front desk showed no apology and seemed to doubt my concerns, even when I had photos. I did not feel taken seriously. I would not recommend this hotel. The only positive is the nearby shops.

What I care about most in a hotel is the bed. Marriott has everyone else beat.
