I am extremely disappointed and upset by the way we were treated during our attempted stay. When we arrived, the staff member initially treated us politely. However, shortly afterward, we were told that we would need to cancel our stay and that there was nothing she could do for us. This was extremely frustrating and confusing because our room had already been confirmed, yet we were not allowed to check in. What made the situation particularly uncomfortable was the feeling that we were being judged because of our appearance. We had just finished a long day of work and were wearing painting/work clothes, with some paint and dirt on our hands and clothing. I cannot say with certainty that this was the reason we were denied our stay, but the sudden change in attitude made us feel extremely uncomfortable and unwelcome. We are hardworking, honest people. We were exhausted after working all day and simply wanted to take a shower, get some rest, and be ready for work the following morning. Instead, despite having a confirmed reservation, we were left late at night without the accommodation we reasonably expected to have. The situation became even worse because Monterey was extremely busy due to a major car event. By the time we had to search for another place, availability was very limited and prices were extremely high. Because of this unexpected situation, we were forced to spend significantly more money just to find somewhere to sleep. Beyond the additional expense, what affected me most was the embarrassment and humiliation of being turned away while standing there in our work clothes after an exhausting day. No paying guest with a confirmed reservation should be made to feel that they are somehow less deserving of respect because they arrive wearing dirty work clothes. This entire experience was unacceptable, stressful, and deeply disappointing. Unfortunately, there was very little to like about this experience. The initial interaction was polite, but that quickly became irrelevant after we were denied check-in despite having a confirmed reservation and were left searching for another place to stay late at night.

Location very convenient, staff exceptionally nice, mattress comfortable, bedding and bathroom very clean, parking right in front of room. It’s a very old motel and a budget motel so furniture was shabby, room was small, and one of the lamps was broken.

The people that run the place are serious about providing a positive experience. They have set boundaries that ensure that everything will run smoothly for guests. The staff are friendly and helpful, though english is not their first language, so be patient. They want nothing more than for you to enjoy your stay. I made a mistake in my reservation and they were happy to help me get everything back on track when I owned up to my mistake. The room and furniture and finishing details are all fantastic for the price! The location is noisy, but you definitely feel like you're in the middle of it all being on Main St in Salinas!

The name and that’s it! Rude stuff, uncomfortable, and not welcoming do not feel safe nor willing to replace towels or blankets we ran out of toilet paper and did not replace.

FRONT DESK RUDE, IF YOU ARRIVE EARLY THEY DON'T ALLOW YOU TO WAIT IN THE LOBBY, THE LADY WAS RUDE NO SPANISH SPEAKING PERSONNEL ALSO. SCREAMING AT THE GUESS FOR NOT UNDERSTANDING. I SPOKE WITH THEM BY PHONE TO SETTLE THE PAY ANSWER SWEET BY IN PERSON SHE IS SOMETHING ELSE. THE STAFF
