AC by Marriott Salt Lake City Downtown

Location was very convenient for me since I was attending a conference nearby. The room was comfortable, delivered what is expected for a chain hotel, nothing stands out. They had coffee and tea for free most of the time in the lobby, which was nice. No specific complaints but also nothing stands out to make it more recommendable than similar hotels.

Staff was great!

We had an excellent experience. The staff member who checked me in was very friendly and helpful. He was even able to look up my very old Marriott rewards number. Later the bartender was also wondeful about helping me confirm what menu options would be safe for my gluten and soy allergic kiddo and husband. He went the extra mile to verify with the kitchen. My family also loved the bathroom fixtures, shower and water pressure.

The location was convenient and the modern styling was nice. The front desk staff were robotic and didn’t even know they had oversized parking in the back when we asked about it. They nickel and dime for everything and even though the room was for 3-4 people, there was no mirror by the desk where someone could put on makeup, so instead the bathroom gets hogged. The $15 breakfast was more minimal than what lower priced Marriott chains offer for free. I would not stay here again.

Staff was welcoming.

The gym is located on the second floor. The rooms adjacent to the gym are very loud. You can hear weights dropping on the floor early mornings and in the evening. Not great for business travelers and the staff really didn’t care.

Noisy machinery all night

The breakfast is overpriced for what is offered, so we never purchased it. But there is plenty of free coffee, tea and hot chocolate. All in all, a nice hotel in a good location across the street from the Salt Palace.

Breakfast was lacking. Other than that, it was fine.

The hotel was very nice! The parking sucked. We were told that we park in a shared parking. My son was locked into the building for a half hour until his wife went to rescue him after not getting response from office workers. So we missed an appointment so I won’t stay at or recommend this hotel to others!

The hotel and our room were very clean and well maintained. The location is also very convenient, making it easy to get around. Breakfast was nice, and we especially appreciated the coffee option available throughout the day. Overall, a very pleasant experience — we would happily stay here again. Nothing.

Staff was friendly, room was clean, comfortable and functionally efficient. The 24/7 coffee offering was very much appreciated and of high quality. Gym was more than adequate with good equipment that helped me not miss a beat drink my trip. Would definitely stay there again.
