No microwave made it difficult to fine a place to reheat food

However, for a hotel charging approximately **$500 per night**, the cleanliness was disappointing. The biggest issue was the rooftop pool during the Fourth of July celebration. The pool water was extremely cloudy and appeared dirty. It was so unappealing that I would not have let my children swim in it. During the four hours we spent at the pool, not once did we see a staff member cleaning tables, picking up trash, or maintaining the area. Instead, employees spent much of their time standing around and using their phones while trash and used towels accumulated. The windows surrounding the pool were also filthy. They were so dirty that we had to use our own towels to wipe the glass just so we could enjoy the view and watch the fireworks. That should never be necessary at a hotel of this caliber. Our guest room also needed much more attention. There was noticeable dust throughout the room, and my wife experienced allergy symptoms for hours after we left. Housekeeping needs to pay much closer attention to detail. The hotel has great potential, and the customer service from most employees was excellent. Unfortunately, the lack of cleanliness throughout the property—especially at the pool and in the guest rooms—does not r

Front desk staff was kind. No towels at the pool, even after asking staff and waiting an hour. Disappointing we had to walk back from the pool with no towels. Good location, 20 min walk to the astrodome. Would maybe stay here again.

It’s a beautiful hotel. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable. The restaurant in the hotel is excellent and plenty of Texas size portions.

I’m so happy that I chose The Contessa for my 4th of July birthday celebration! From the moment we arrived it felt great! The staff was very friendly and attentive. Our suite was immaculate and welcoming. My favorite amenity was the rooftop pool, we watched the 4th of July fireworks from there. Oh, and they even gave us two complimentary cocktails vouchers to use at the hotel bar! I also loved that the restaurant has direct access to the Riverwalk. In summary, we had an excellent experience.

There was no coffee on site unless you ordered. We were attending an airforce graduation so we had to leave like at 6 am before breakfast started.

Location was perfect right on the river, nice bar area open to the river walk outside. Comfy beds!
-
Location. Everything is nearby for whatever you’re looking for . Homeless around the area .

Beautiful property , great pool, bar and restaurant at the hotel were great. Everything is walking distance. Check out the museum next door. Found a spot to watch games called the friendly spot just walking distance from hotel as well. Maybe the homeless around the area , but the hotel is not to blame for that.

We love Hotel Contessa! Lionel and Francisco in the Ambler restaurant are fabulous and the food was amazing. AJ and Fast Eddie are the best Bell men and will take great care of you. It’s quiet and the pool is beautiful.

It was ok. Not what it’s cracked up to be. Breakfast was good. Waiter service was ok. One male waiter in the morning was excellent. High energy and very attentive. Everything else was just ok.
