Courtyard by Marriott San Diego Downtown Little Italy

Spacious clean rooms with comfortable beds. Walking distance to great restaurants. It was a little loud being so close to the freeway and the parking garage ramps are tight for bigger vehicles.

Could use bigger pool. Nice hotel good location.

Overall it was a good stay. All staff was friendly, and our room and commkn areas were clean. There were a few things making the stay a 4 instead of a 5. We were on the 17th floor with a lot of freeway noise from below. Our bed was not very comfortable so neither my wife nor I slept very well. Last, the parking is tight, both the size of the spots and more importantly the exit ramp is narrow (with warning). We were driving an Equinox which I'm sure didn't help.

Beautiful, clean property and rooms!

There for 6 days on vacation. Was first given a card key to a room that was already occupied. Bathroom door was extremely squeaky. Door was taken care of after asking. Staff was very helpful. Had to ask for room clean and for towels.

That said, my stay came with a few bumps: Check‑in was a little chaotic, likely due to a new system upgrade the hotel was rolling out. I was mistakenly billed for a room I had already paid for, which took extra time at arrival. I booked and paid for a sunset view, but ended up with a freeway view instead. Not a deal‑breaker, but definitely disappointing given the price difference and expectation. Our Wi‑Fi didn’t work during the stay. I tried calling the front desk multiple times, but no one ever answered. When I went down to the lobby, the lines were extremely long, clearly the staff was overwhelmed and juggling a lot at once. Despite the hiccups, the hotel itself is genuinely nice. It seems they had a lot going on behind the scenes, and unfortunately, I ended up with the short end of the stick during a busy or transitional period. I’d consider staying again, but hopefully once their systems are running smoothly.

Love the location of the property of the property. It's close to the beach, food, and nightlife. The parking garage is the only pain point. It's very narrow and other parking options are limited

Overall it was ok but the beds were terrible and the pillows had no support for neck and head. We tried to use the pool 3 times but always to many people all ready in it. It was a very small pool for the # of quest at hotel. The manager on Saturday afternoon was very helpful, I was not feeling well and wanted to check out early she was a big help. I do have some concerns about an upcoming trip to Marriott Long wharf in Boston in October and hope the beds are more comfortable

Unfortunately, we reserved one thing, however, only to arrive and be told the room was not available. We were not offered what was reserved. This was disappointing as it was my wife's birthday trip!

And their parking garage is a nightmare. Extremely narrow entry and exit points. And they charge $45 a day to park there! The swimming pool is sad with zero amenities. I would not recommend this hotel and won’t ever be staying here again.

All good except for lines at reception for check in / other queries. The check in process for each guest took a long time and now enough staff to process everyone

Great spot and very well maintained. Elevator was the only tricky thing - took a bit to get down or up a few times, but nothing unmanageable. Very good service and excellent restaurant (we only tried breakfast, but it was very good).

Cleaning staff didn't clean the room I was concerned about our bathroom as it smelled like Pee, I was also told that the hotel is newer but based on the grout and mold in some places i didn't think that was right. The restaurant had such odd food. Hard to eat there. Otherwise, location was good. Parking garage is challenging.

Gorgeous room and lobby. Beautiful pool, I wish we had time to check it out more. Everything near by is adorable, and perfect for a tourist. I still just wish we felt more hospitality from the staff & system. We’d just drove 18 straight hours to make it to the city in time for an event, that ended up being moved to later in the day. We attempted to call and request early check in- but you can’t reach an actual front desk agent at the hotel. The Marriott call center gave me a number to then reach their direct desk. It was the same number- to a robot line. We decided to stop by around 11am, (know it was still early) just so we could talk to a human in the actual building. Bertha(?) I believe was our desk agent, and as we stood there the phone was just ringing and they let it. I explained to her I understand it’s still super early and we tried to call- so she knew we weren’t expecting a room right that second. She then asked for my ID, and called me by the wrong name 3x. (Rachel isn’t even that close to my name?) She reassured us they would give us a call once a room was ready. Finally around 3pm after an afternoon spent just waiting around, we decide to go ask in person again. When we arrived there were 2 groups of 6+ checking in! We had Bertha as our desk agent again, and there was absolutely no courtesy for us as guests. No courtesy call. I wish I’d confronted the situation onsite- coming from the industry myself, but also just did not have the energy in me.

The most disturbing issue was finding multiple blood stains on the bed sheets and what appeared to be blood near the toilet. We reported it immediately, but the response made things even worse. While changing the bedding, housekeeping placed the blood-stained sheets directly on top of my clean clothes and personal belongings, forcing me to wash and sanitize everything. To make matters worse, the building’s washing machine was out of service. I also watched the bathroom being cleaned with what appeared to be only a towel and water. I never saw any disinfectant or cleaning products used, which was especially concerning after finding what appeared to be blood in the room. Management showed no empathy, offered no meaningful apology, and instead canceled our reservation without helping us find another room or another Marriott property at the same rate. We were left to find new accommodations on our own. I understand that maintenance issues can happen, but the cleanliness concerns and lack of customer service made this an unacceptable experience.
