Needs a better gym and bar but love the big tv!

Staff was helpful and we got our room no problem! Super clean and quiet Hotel in the heart of San Diego!

Also, invest in a ventilation system for the bathroom. At other Best Western hotels breakfast and parking are free, but not here. Despite this, comfortable beds and ample parking. And I am a BW member, but purchased through a 3rd party but was never asked by a staff member.

First the good: Friendly helpful staff. Fitness center was nice, small but serviceable, and pool that were tricky to find. Location is pretty nice. I could walk to Gaslamp and Little Italy. Probably to Balboa Park, but I didn't do that. Lobby/Lounge was pretty nice. Lots of people hanging out. The Bad: Towels smelled mildew or something that was off. Because of location next to the highway, it was a little noisy, but I knew that going in. Some homeless camps next to or near hotel. (I am a little more able to deal with this and had a conversation with one young homeless guy). Did not experience panhandling. The Weird: The shape of hotel and rooms was odd. Round building means rooms are odd shapes. I ended up in an accessible room. That means good thing is hand held shower; the bad is the bathroom floods after a shower. Did not try restaurant or bar. I really wanted to like this place, but won't likely stay again, lots of other options available. Pet peeve: this is with most city hotels. Parking was about one fourth the cost of the room. Not sure the solution to this, other than get over it.

The employee asked me to show proof that they were bed bug bites, so I rolled up my pant legs and showed him the bite marks. He told me someone would inspect the room and asked me to go for a walk because I was uncomfortable and itchy. He even said that when I came back they would have an update. When I returned, no one had spoken with me, no manager followed up, and no one appeared to have addressed the issue. I continued waking up with new bites and spent the remainder of my stay constantly scratching and uncomfortable. Later, I was told it was probably the chemicals used on the bedding. That explanation did not make sense to me because I had visible bite marks that continued throughout my stay. Despite reporting the issue immediately, I was not moved to another room, the problem was never resolved, and I was not offered any compensation or refund. I paid approximately $1,600 for this stay, yet I spent most of it itchy, uncomfortable, and frustrated. This was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had because I felt my concerns were dismissed instead of being properly investigated. And the photos are misleading so when you think you’re getting what you’re supposed to no

Easy check in and out

It is overall a decent Hotel. But, it needs a few upgrades to become excellent. The room service is every other day which isn't ideal. Also, the TV, while being very large, is not smart. You cannot watch your shows on Netflex, HBO, etc. You may want to bring an HDMI cable to connect your laptop to. The cleanliness was Ok. We only saw a stein on one of the towels during our four night stay. Probably the biggest advantage is the location. It is very close to most San Diego attractions including little Italy, Bolboa Park, downtown, water front, etc. withing 10-30 mins walk. Also, the bay view is quite nice if you are on one of the top floors.

This hotel must be BRAND NEW! Everything was clean and new and staff were very nice and helpful. Good walking distance from everything downtown, overall felt like a safe area too. Would definitely recommend and stay again.

Good place for families with lots of kids. Not so much for adult couples. Staff was excellent!

The room was run down the handle to the restroom was broken the sheets were dirty
-
The hotel is ideally located to the airport and situated at the perfect location between freeways which connect you to every major attraction in the city.
-
the breakfast was really good &’ loved that the bar stayed open late

Stayed here for 3 nights for a little get-away and was an overall good experience. Room was clean, view was nice and overall was good. Parking garage was bit of a tight squeeze and also didn’t realize you needed a room card for the elevators but besides the parking garage I have 0 complaints.
-
There was no parking available due to it being full. Had to park down the street and walk two blocks to get to hotel. It’s a bit scary due to the homeless in the area. Hotel was decent good beds just location wise wasn’t ideal.
-
The property was right in little Italy. That was in walking distance of a lot of restaurants and shops. Very cool neighborhood. The beds were comfortable and the floors/rooms were quiet and clean.
-
center location , easy access and short drive distance to the zoo, museums and harbor

Overall we had a great stay at The Dextro. The front desk staff was always super helpful, courteous and knowledgeable. The rooms were nice and seemed updated. The bathroom was clean and the shower had great water pressure. A plus was that the pool area reached wi-fi so I was able to watch world cup games and relax in the sun. Only downside was that the floors did not seem to be cleaned thoroughly. The room floor felt like it maybe had not been vacuumed or swept well and in the hall there was a dorito in the corner next to the elevator for out entire 4 day stay.

Pretty basic, good for one night.
