One of the worst experiences we’ve ever had at a hotel happened here. Upon arrival we parked in the parking lot which was extremely small, only to find out that there was no parking available and we would have to park 2 blocks away and pay $25. Then we got to the room to see mold on the vents and walls, bugs in the bed and on the floor, no AC. The room reeked of cigarettes, sat on bench seat in the room and the cushion fell off. Overall HORRIBLE conditions. When we told staff they were rude and told us we would have to talk to management the following day but we probably wouldn’t get any type of refund. We ended up having to get a last minute hotel in Pacific Beach. The surrounding area is also sketchy with homeless and others hanging out right outside. 0/10 beware of this hotel.

The Motel 6-Downtown is, overall, a good, pleasant place to say, convenient to most tourist sites in San Diego, especially, Little Italy. My room was comfortable. I had a room which was not adjoining to any other room. My room had what I needed and was roomy. The air conditioning was very mild. It took, at least, two hours in order for the a/c to maintain a comfortable level for me (approx. 72 degrees). My shower had not been well-cleaned. There was a swath of gray gunk on the shower stall. The staff was never less than kind, courteous, and helpful, going beyond the call of duty in holding my luggage on the day of my checkout, which let me do last-minute eating and sightseeing before departing for home.

Nothing, I booked for 3 nights and end up only stay 1 night, just because I arrived at midnight and it was hard to find any other place. It was disguising and unconfutable, it felt like a one of those horrify dirty hotel from American movies, it was one of the most uncomfortable night, I slept with hoddie on my head and at the top of the blanket and not even used the shower. The manager promised me a refund for the 2 nights that I was not that, but I never received it.

Very little communication with the staff, many times would be at desk for assistance for over 20 minutes and no one would be there!

Walking distance to take the SD Trolley was great. Everything was close by in walking. A/C was strong enough to keep fresh air and ice machine wasn’t working at all.

Horrible, no ac, dirty and noisy
-
Everyone was nice. Place felt a little dirty tho room and hallways. Staff was really nice tho would totally stay again. Based on the staff.

The location was close to work, which was convenient. The staff were very friendly and helpful when i needed my card re-keyed. There were lots of nearby options for food delivery. Room was never cleaned once or bed made during my two week stay. There were a lot of people hanging out in front of the building at all hours. Nearby guests were having loud arguments with eachother.

OLD HOTEL WHERE NOTHING WORKS -THIS PLACE IS A FILTHY DUMP -WORST HOTEL I HAVE STAYED AT -WITNESSED STAFF ACTING RUDE AND TALKING BACK TO OTHER GUESTS, MALE FRONT DESK EVEN DARED TO TALK BACK TO ME IN A RUDE WAY -NO WORKING A/C IN PLAIN SUMMER AUGUST -ASKED FOR A ROOM CHANGE AND NO A/C WORKING IN ALL THREE ROOMS SHOWN - HOTEL KEYS NEVER WORKED, HAD TO CHANGE THEM AT FRONT DESK DAILY -ELEVATOR WITH GRAFFITI -THRASH BINS OVERFLOWING -FILTHY HALLWAY FLOOR CARPETS WITH BIG STAINS -MOLD FORMING INSIDE SHOWER -ROOM FURNITURE CHIPPED AND OLD

Gigi at the Front Desk was amazing. She let me wash my clothes while I waited for a room treated me like a visitor in her own house. God bless Motel 6.
-
dump. low budget and dirty
-
Bad
-
Had to change rooms thrice, broken AC, broken lights and so many issues with parking
-
The staff acts irritated anytime you ask for help, the grounds are littered with trash, and there are homeless individuals constantly approaching guests for money. The room itself was just okay, but the linoleum floor was melted or burnt, there was mold on the ceiling, and the entire place smelled like smoke. It was absolutely not worth the price.
-
AC was not working, woke on the last day with bug bites on my legs and arms had to go to the hospital on Sunday afternoon
-
Staff was kind and respectful, but property could use some attention. Perhaps a complete remodel
-
The parking was 20$ a night but there’s limited spots and they definitely over sold so we had to street park both nights.

This hotel shouldn’t be open, the conditions are terrible starting in front desk are dirty. The old carpet in the hall there are so filthy oily spots all over, smells mold. The bed sheets was covered with hair from the previous guess ,yellow spots and signs of fleas all over the bed and pillows, dirty floors, spiders web on the corners of the dark room, a lot of mold spots on the ceiling room and bathroom too, tank toilet broken. Ask for another room: was worst than the first… couldn’t stay in there. Anyway I canceled and asked for refund, they give me a hard time and refuse to refund me. I’m still trying to get my money back. The worst part is the front desk staff and manager was sarcastic told me to go to Hilton hotel. This hotel is completely unhealthy. I wouldn’t never recommend for anybody. I’m still going fighting to get my money back.
