Porto Vista Hotel Downtown

Our bedroom floor was filthy; our clean bare feet were black on the first day. There was urine in the 4th floor walkway right outside the stairs. They only offered maid service upon request. The QR code that prompted us to text for service blocked our message. None of my messages I sent through the website were answered over the course of 2 months before my reservation.

Great location to LIL Italy and 1.5 walk to Petco Park which isnt too far.. I will be back this is a great place but the pool is a little small but it is cozy

Our room had a full fridge, microwave, and small stove (a studio stove). I would visit this location again. I would plan to stay for the holidays but there seems to be a weight limit on dogs. We typically bring him down with us.

It was nothing like the photos. Really terrible experience. Bedsheets, cleanliness, smell, safety, front desk not welcoming at all.

Backed up shower, someone taking a shower above us and you can see our shower floor filling up with dingy and bad smell water and noted a lot of hair. We did not step in that shower and use wipes to clean up. Bedding were smelly like been used. Nightmare.!!!

The location is good and close to a lot of shops and restaurants. The staff were nice. The hotel felt run-down. The floors were so dirty our socks were turning black. There was pee on the wall in the bathroom, mold in the shower, paint and drywall bubbling up, obvious water stains on the ceiling, so on. No soap in the dispensers. The beds had no comforter or duvet, just a double set of sheets. The headboards were super worn down, not a big deal just added to the dingy vibe. We asked for 2 extra hand towels and 2 extra body towels 3 days into our 5 day stay (mind you there were 3 of us in the room) … the staff at the front desk gave us 4 “floor mat” towels instead. The hotel looks more like a motel once you get past the lobby.

Porto Vista is in a perfect location to enjoy Little Italy. The hotel was clean, had decent beds and good wall unit air-conditioning. The restaurant was good as well. The only disappointment was the “spool” and the rooftop amenities. There is a bar but it is only run by the movies on the roof company. Overall it was a great stay and great location.

We arrived later in the evening and the one front desk attendant was busy so it took a bit to get checked in. The room had some pretty beat up looking furniture (a whole check was missing out of the table in the room) the in-room coffee station was poorly stocked and due to the building being older, the shower was pretty slow to drain.

Excellent service, dog friendly, staff super helpful, close to all the bars, and excellent bartenders.
