The breakfast was actually better than expected. This is an old property and it definitely shows. But the room was clean and the price was reasonable. Just beware that if you drive a large vehicle and plan to park it on property the parking garage can be a challenge to the safety of bumpers and bodywork, so proceed with care.

The staff were nice and had their hands full at check-in time as their "system was down" and we had to fill out a paper "the old fasioned way". Not a big deal, however again the location showing its age (or lack of up-keep on owners part). Time for a little remodeling. The Hot Tub was still awesome so a nice soak calmed me down. I just wish it would be open until 11pm, not 10pm. (That extra hour matters if you arrive late check-in.. would be nice to be able to unwind longer). But the again it is Cailfornia where the state goverment has over taxed everything to hell and made many lose their businesses/homes. I guess you can say "You get what you pay for" doesnt seem to qualify here.. They still charge a premium to stay at this property, and the maintaining falls short of paying the current charges. I only blame the owners and feel for the hard working employees. I believe we wont be coming back next time. SMH Hilton. The "circle South" has lost many good hotels in the past due to circumstances just like this. Dont be next.

$33 a day to park. The garage was very tight and hard to maneuver in. The elevator to the garage was broken the 3 days we were there. Informed the front desk. Nothing was done. Many hotels to choose from in San Diego and we will not choose this one again

I didn’t like the shower not draining well

Had a great time,

The room was clean and modern but you can tell that it is a bit dated. The pool was nice with a fire pit, Both close at 10. There is plenty of outside seating though. The inside of the hotel is very clean and smells lovely. The nightmare is the parking structure and the single elevator in the parking structure that is soooooo slow. But that is all. No real complaints, It is local to shopping and restaurants.

Great room good size very clean all the time they came to attend every needs had whatever you needed soap towels sheets pillows they had it. It was just overall great experience

Elevators inspections expired, Wifi log in issues, shower heads need cleaned, no microwave in room, no clock, parking lot is tough to maneuver. Ice machine broken 4th floor. Doors were closed but still noisy from pool area. Tv navigation tough. Should use some of the parking cost on repairs. Handicap shower water puddles. Sink has some clogging.

After checking in, I realized I had booked the wrong DoubleTree hotel. I went to front to explain my situation, at first the manager did not even look me and did not offer an alternate solution. I called Expedia and they were able to get the hotel to refund me for the other 2 nights I was planning to stay. I will not be staying here again.

Sink and bathtub completely clogged and pool had a lot of debris. Old feel, needs updating. Nice staff

Love this place! Especially coming with family!

The biggest cons was the $33 a night parking( um where else is my car supposed to go and this wasn’t mentioned when I booked via Expedia.) I also paid for breakfast and the app did not mention it would only cover two assaults. So I had to pay out of pocket for my other two kids to eat which actually defeated the purpose of paying for breakfast ( I spent more than anticipated). The staff was kind and responsive. The location is close to Mission Beach which was a plus. Overall, I wasn’t too excited about the extra expenses that no one warned me about. 6/10

I chose this hotel over other options I’ve stayed at in the area because I expected a better experience, but I left disappointed. I was assigned an accessible room next to the elevator, the bathroom felt dated, and the highway noise was surprisingly loud. Overall, it didn’t live up to my expectations.

We actually had a very bad experience. Even though we arrived early and checked in, they told us our room wasn't available yet, but it would get assigned. No big deal, we left our luggage at the storage room and went to sightsee. We were sure the room would be ready by 10 pm, but when we arrived, they said it was unassigned and we had no room. It took until about 11pm for us to finally get a room. Very excusing and disappointing.
