Hampton Inn San Diego/Mission Valley

Booked this hotel after seeing a bad hotel down the street. This was a great place to stay and grateful we had acted fast after our other hotel was bad.

We got there at 2:35 and they said they couldn’t check us in until 3pm. Waited in lobby which look pretty clean. Got to room and it was very worn down looking. Rust in bathroom, holes in comforter and dirty hand prints on walls. They didn’t come to switch out towels or make beds during stay. I thought for the area and price would have received a little bit more in quality of room. The good thing is the pool was open late until 10pm.

Breakfast was great! But our room did not have a refrigerator & the staff did not let us know. The beds were super comfy but the comforters had some little stains and so did a lamp.

We were given room next to door leading to parking lot. That door slammed very loudly and woke us up every time someone came in or out of hotel. We didn’t get much sleep. Advised front desk staff. Apologetic but did not offer any kind of compensation.

I like that there’s free breakfast and coffee station. Room is very clean and staff are friendly.

Clean room too late

Nice clean hotel with nice staff who respond to requests quickly. The rooms are good in general, but a little old bathroom mirror light wasn’t working on one side. Door on 226 doesn’t close unless you push hard. Our room was left not completely locked by room service after cleaning probably because they didn’t know they had to push hard until the lock clicked.

The front desk staff was extremely friendly and helpful upon arrival. We chose to be on the top floor and had no issues with loud neighbors. The beds were very comfortable. Everything was clean. We were unable to try the breakfast because we were only there one night and we had to fly out before breakfast started; however, there were plenty of drinks available 24/7 in the lobby.

Room was small for 5 people, bathroom shower was horrible no pressure, bathroom was old and it showed. Using the toilet felt like getting up off the floor. Also the pillows were horrible. Also we didn't get any house keeping for the 4 days. We had to ask for towels. Also breakfast was ok but unless you want to eat at 6am forget about having a fast breakfast because there were so many people down there it was insane. Took us about 25 minutes to get to the waffle maker and make ourselves a waffle. Also that smoke sausage they had was either a very cheap brand or it was turkey sausage. It was horrible.

Check in and check out staff were great! Breakfast was good... plenty of options. Didn't use other amenities. Beds comfortable and air works great!!! Easy access to freeways...

Stuff were nice, The bad was so bad, the mattress is old and very uncomfortable. For the price that we paid it felt like sleeping in a Motel.

Clean rooms, hot breakfast

We’ve stayed at the Hampton in the past and loved the property! This time we were sadden by how poorly the property has been kept up! We were given two separate rooms both dirty, smelled very musty and furniture beat up! Found wads of hair, blood/feces caked on the wall and again the smell! Such a bummer because on the outside looking in, it looks like a great property! Better housekeeping practices and updated furniture is needed!

The room was fine. The staff person who checked me in was curt and unhelpful, and I didn’t appreciate the surprise $28 parking fee. One primary reason I typically choose to stay in Hotel Circle is that they let you park your damn car.
