Ocean Beach Hotel

Room was small but clean. Staff were friendly and location is great. There are many homeless people nearby and sleeping on the beach which is a bit of an eye sore, also is kinda dirty. Not on the hotel premises but in plain sight when looking out the windows or off the balcony.

Great views, very close beach access, clean room and well maintained areas

I reserved the "Ocean View Queen", but the Ocean View Queen shows a partial ocean view, nothing like the Ocean View King that we upgraded to for an additional $125.00 a night. The Ocean View King was well worth the upgrade. So much activity on the beach from surfers to the unhoused, such a vibe! The hotel itself is in need of updates, but the location is to die for! So many great restaurants and amenities within walking distance. Definitely a 4.5/5 for me. Rooms are kind of small, but who goes to a beachfront hotel for the room size? Overall, a great experience and I will be back!

Lovely (rare) beachside hotel experience. Nice staff, incredible access to the beach and restaurants. Stairs could use some love (to make it feel more worth the price) but rooms were nice and that's the most important thing.

I loved the view from the deck, the crew there were so friendly and amazing. They took such great care of all my needs. I loved being able to come back each day to a clean room and fresh towels. I wouldn’t recommend any other place to stay! They do the best job!!

It was alright. checked in 2 hours late because the rooms weren’t ready and no discount. was told my room was fully paid for at check in when i insisted there was an additional night i added on that had not yet been paid for and then got an almost $400 charge on the card that i wasn’t going to use for that additional night but was told it was already paid for. the bathroom door didn’t close at all. the balcony does have a view of the ocean but it’s actually directly facing the street not the ocean which isn’t that great either and being so close to the water it would be better to save the $ on the balcony and just walk outside.

Our room was clean and maid service was good. Only drawback was a train whistle sounding noise went off every time the toilet was flushed!!!

You will get a contact high! No avoiding it! It’s really disappointing, since the beach is so close and all the shops and restaurants are so close. I’m sure it was a nice area at one time.

We really enjoyed. The private patio was available for our dogs and the inner patio was cool to sit at have a cup of coffee in the morning really enjoyed being able to wake up to the ocean every morning. Go to sleep and watch the sunset. It was everything we wanted and needed so close to different shops and eateries my husband and I will make this a yearly start. Maybe even twice a year it was so affordable thank you to the staff. They were all friendly and welcoming eager to help in anyway.

Everything was wonderful about this hotel. One thing would be nice is an elevator!

The bathrooms are very small, but we knew this going into it. When you sit on the toilet your knees will almost definitely be in the sink. It is lively at night and you can hear music from the street, not that big of a deal. There was no ice as the machine was out of service and they had some in the cooler but only one tiny bag. On our last night a drunk woman pulled the fire alarm at 2:30 in the morning, and when everyone went outside the hotel staff did not even say there was no fire and go back to bed they just stood there and looked around.

The hotel is an old one, but great location right across from the beach. I would recommend the king suite because you’ll have a beautiful ocean view. But remember it is an active beach so it can get loud at times but it’s manageable. Wednesday they have a farmers market and it was wonderful the community was very helpful and welcoming.

Free live music throughout the stay. Walk to anything that matters. People were nice. Staff was fantastic!!!

We stayed there on Monday 17 Aug 2026. Very easy acress to the beach and a few decent close food options. Older building with decent upgrades etc, with two notable exceptions; #1 no grab bars in the showers. #2 three stories but no elevator

The rooms are small but it was just me so that was fine. The rooms have windows facing a narrow walkway so not much privacy with the drapes open. And I missed the fact that there is no elevator when I booked the room so dragging suitcase up and down to the third floor was unexpected. (This should be prominently noted in the property description!) But, all in all , the location and view overcomes the physical shortcomings for a quick beach stay.

Ocean view wonderful. Room clean but bed very soft, uncomfortable. No counters in tiny bathroom. Not enough drinking water or coffee supplies.

Location is great and you are supporting an independent hotel. But, there was no room services for four days, one bed was sinking in, shower didn’t get fixed after asking for it. Snack bar is solid, staff are nice, and location is great again.

Beach views are the main attraction!

Everything else is excellent except the stair way look so old and dirty

This was a perfect hotel for our dogs and we loved the dog beach and all the near by places to eat and shop. Steps from the sand! Great location to the beach. The air conditioner worked well,the bathroom was clean and up graded,the beds/pilllws were comfortable and we enjoyed the private patio. Staff was helpful and nice. Overall the hotel is very dated and needs up grading.The immediate sourounding streets were crowded with people day and late,late night. We didn’t know the area and we were unaware of the Wednesday street fair and the partying,music and thousands of people that would be all around our hotel. There was conflict outside of our hotel all three nights, that was scary and a little dissspointing
