Hyatt Regency Mission Bay Spa and Marina

We’ve stayed at a few Hyatt Regency’s before and we’ve always been comfortable and happy with our stay. Maybe this place was once great, but now it is run down, dirty, and dilapidated. It feels like they can’t keep up with the number of guests coming through. Trash everywhere around the grounds, grimy walls, sidewalks and surfaces. The pool was murky and the tile is chipping and one of the pool heaters was broken. The room felt like lipstick on a pig. A dated room with a cosmetic renovation. Which would’ve been okay if it was clean. There were dirty hand prints on the blinds, red splatters in a the shower, and spiderwebs in the corners. The kids looked forward to “checking on our spiders” when we came back to the room. Our friends had a ceiling tile fall in from an AC leak in their room. There’s a theme here. Overall when you pay $700/night you just expect more. The staff were kind and we noticed them picking up trash after we mentioned it.

There was no place to purchase necessities that stayed open after 6pm. No vending machines or ice machine. If you visit this hotel make sure to pack well with snacks and necessities especially if you have children.

Gorgeous view and fun experience all around. Especially enjoyed the marina experience paddle boarding

It’s a nice location and staff is awesome. It was SO EXPENSIVE for a room above the roof air conditioning System. And having to negotiate how to get to coffee was ridiculous.

The location, heated pools, water slide and pool side service. The bathroom did not have a vent fan so after 6 people taking showers the whole room would get very hot and muggy.

Family friendly! Clean rooms, friendly staff, pool with water slides, play area, food, coffee shop, etc.

The Hyatt was a wonderful stay for a vacation with our 10 yo grandson. He absolutely loved the pool with the slides, and we enjoyed the poolside restaurant/bar too (enjoyed seeing mantas and fish in the water below our outside seats). We had an amazing view of Mission Bay and the beach from our balcony and enjoyed sitting out there every morning and evening. The bell, check-in, concierges (holly and Phillip), and the housekeeping staff were all friendly and very helpful, and we enjoyed the Red Marlin included breakfast with our stay! The location was convenient to all the attractions, and I highly recommend. Would definitely choose to stay again.

Checking in was easy and everything went smoothly, the staff are friendly. Our room was clean. We like staying here because it’s a lot quieter than other hotels. We definitely would come back. Overall it was a great experience.

Parking after 9:00 pm can be a little challenging. The employees are really friendly and helpful. We love the restaurant on property for breakfast. Good food and great Marina views.
