I can not say enough nice words about this place. Small and intimate and very good customer service. The staff is so gracious and friendly. Fantastic views. Centrally located to many places near by.

Off the busy path of ocean beach. Its a quiet vibe. I loved the outside seating by the ocean. The view and sunset are worth a million bucks. The rooms are small and could use some updating. Beds were super comfortable. Staff allowed us to check in early which was a game changer for us. I do wish the bathroom had a countertop for items. Parking was easy and about a mile walk to food and beach.

We loved the Inn at Sunset Cliffs! The location is right on the ocean, with local businesses nearby. The inner courtyard of the Inn was gorgeous with all of the flowers and plants. Our room was a great size, very clean, and even had a microwave and mid-size refrigerator. The staff were all so friendly and helpful! When we return to San Diego, we will definitely stay there again!

Like the view of the ocean. I would give 5 stars if the restroom is a little bit bigger in the 2 room suite.

Great stay at Sunset Cliffs! We specifically went to San Diego on a bucket list trip to see the sun rise over the Atlantic and set over the Pacific, on the same calendar day. We could not have chosen a better place to see the sunset! The direct view over the ocean is spectacular. We were greeted by a very helpful, and friendly gal at check-in. She gave us ideas for restaurants that were close by. There is a cafe and liquor store/market less than a block away. Most of the restaurants and shops were an easy 20 minute walk to Ocean Beach. The courtyard is very quaint with beautiful flowers. Our room was directly across from the busy pool, but there are quiet hours, so it wasn't an issue at all when it was time to sleep. The room was clean and had everything we needed for our stay. I just wish we had another night there to have enjoyed to views a little longer. I would definitely stay there again on a future trip to San Diego!

It is a dated (but maintained) property…1.Outlets are VERY scarce. If you have the space, i recommend bringing a power strip or charger. 2. Rooms have paper thin walls. I HIGHLY recommend an upstairs room if you’re a light sleeper. 3. There is AC- however it doesn’t reach the “back” room in the 2 bedroom suite. So you’ll want to adjust the fan accordingly if you prefer to not sleep “hot” 4. Bring cozy clothes or blankets for the evenings on the patio. It’s lovely to sit out there but does get chilly and there weren’t patio heaters or fire pits while we were there. Overall, we would stay again but just adjust a few things on our trip. Please know: The staff was so helpful and even found us an extra fan to increase the air flow and drown out the noise from upstairs.

Nice location, beautiful views for you to enjoy. Many features advertised are not available. No swim up bars, rooms not as shown. We were a late arrival so we definitely got the last available room. I asked about this and was told that the photos are "arranged " and rooms aren't like that. They were sold out due to a special event. Parking is awful. We had a mobility scooter, using a big SUV. Very limited parking most of the time due to people coming to the area to watch the sunset.

The property was really nice and the staff was friendly and helpful. I would definitely be back

We had a roach in our bathroom on the first night. But the rest of the property was very clean and we never saw another bug after we killed that one. Location was excellent.

Very friendly stuffs. Awesome view.

We were staying here so that we could go to the beach and be right on the ocean. The ad makes it appear that the beach is a 2-minute walk and that there is beach to be on. The ad also stated we would have a partial ocean view but from the room we had no view. When we got there we realized there was no beach on the property of the hotel and we had to walk down the street. The beach that was available then was tiny and not really a beach at all. The property is located in an area that is rundown. I think the price of this hotel is way too much considering the above issues. The room itself was clean and well stocked. The property did allow us to shorten our stay which was appreciated.

The staff was so awesome, super sweet and helpful. I would stay here again and again!

We stayed for two nights in June 2026 to relax after our son's wedding in Baja. It was the perfect place to unwind and relax in San Diego. The views are spectacular, the location is 15 minutes walking distance from many restaurants and bars, and the hotel itself is a treasure.

Really cute inn on the Sunset Cliffs. Pretty quiet area but we were on the side by the stop sign sonic you leave your windows open the traffic can be loud at night, we kept hearing motorcycles and airplanes instead of the ocean, which was a bummer, but also not the inns fault, they can’t control traffic on a Friday and Saturday, Sunday was not as bad as the other two nights as far as noise, just ask for a room on the other side if you are hoping to hear the ocean waves. The deck was really nice to sit outside and watch the sea…We enjoyed the pool, it was nice and warm. There was a basketball hoop and that was fun to play with my family. In the morning if you like to run or walk you can leave from the property and turn right and run along the sunset cliffs…we stayed on the sidewalk but nice views of ocean and pretty neighborhoods. It’s also not too far from Pacific Beach, another favorite running spot…We didn’t try t gee restaurants but there are many close by. The room itself was a 2 bedroom suite, it had a little living room and two separate bedrooms, only one bedroom had a TV, one bathroom and I thought it was nice. The couch was comfy and the shower was good. Not a lot of space to put stuff out in the bathroom by there was room in the actual bedroom so that was good. Overall, really nice visit, there is a bit time deck but there is no access to it, I’m guessing because of coastal erosion, still a nice spot to sit and watch the ocean or the sunset…we got to see one.
