Second time staying here, it was just as delightful as the first! The courtyard is a beautiful spot to sit and enjoy the sunset over the water. I love being close enough to the ocean to hear the waves through the window at night.

Nice hotel for couples or families! Quiet area, nice pool (heated) and great view of the ocean. It’s a dated property, but very well maintained. Housekeeping came every day (so great). The cliffs are in terrible shape so you can get anywhere to explore which is not the hotels fault. The beach nearby is small, dirty and smells terrible so we didn’t stay more than a few minutes. There’s nothing by the hotel to do, but it’s a mile or so from Ocean Beach.. which is disappointing. It’s busy even during the week and everything looks OLD and unkept.

Amazing views in a chill environment. My family loved it.

My family really enjoyed our stay.

really nice place, parking is limited so you may have to street park but we never had an issue finding something in short distance, little smaller than expected but so close to everything.

This site says there is a bar , there is no bar! Also there is a area that needs to be fixed overlooking ocean so its blocked off and you have to walk 2 blocks to beach access.also there black plactic covrering the cliff at hotel very ugly .chair cushions are very old and stained and need to be replaced . But staff was very friendly and helpful and knew the area well.no bottled water at hotel and had to walk to store 2 blocks away for water which was 1075 for a case of water . Expected it to look like the pictures on this site but it looks like that must have been 20 years ago with no upgrading.but great location from everything .

Location and view were awesome. Parking at night can be tight but also it’s a big city and people love being there. Room was comfortable and clean. 100% would recommend to stay there. We were there for a full week. View out into the ocean was amazing!

I did a staycation here and man, do I forget sometimes just how lucky we are to live here. I’ve passed the Inn so many times, but never had the privilege of staying here until recently. One of the best spots, ever! The Inn is so pretty, and peaceful and makes you feel like you’re on an island getaway. The staff is so accommodating and helpful and beyond nice. I will be back and will recommend the Inn any chance I get. Thank you!!

Really loved the place. Staff were incredibly friendly and the service was fast. The ocean view is spectacular. I definitely see myself coming back here for future trips.

Perfect for watching the sunset!

I can not say enough nice words about this place. Small and intimate and very good customer service. The staff is so gracious and friendly. Fantastic views. Centrally located to many places near by.

Off the busy path of ocean beach. Its a quiet vibe. I loved the outside seating by the ocean. The view and sunset are worth a million bucks. The rooms are small and could use some updating. Beds were super comfortable. Staff allowed us to check in early which was a game changer for us. I do wish the bathroom had a countertop for items. Parking was easy and about a mile walk to food and beach.

We loved the Inn at Sunset Cliffs! The location is right on the ocean, with local businesses nearby. The inner courtyard of the Inn was gorgeous with all of the flowers and plants. Our room was a great size, very clean, and even had a microwave and mid-size refrigerator. The staff were all so friendly and helpful! When we return to San Diego, we will definitely stay there again!

Like the view of the ocean. I would give 5 stars if the restroom is a little bit bigger in the 2 room suite.

Great stay at Sunset Cliffs! We specifically went to San Diego on a bucket list trip to see the sun rise over the Atlantic and set over the Pacific, on the same calendar day. We could not have chosen a better place to see the sunset! The direct view over the ocean is spectacular. We were greeted by a very helpful, and friendly gal at check-in. She gave us ideas for restaurants that were close by. There is a cafe and liquor store/market less than a block away. Most of the restaurants and shops were an easy 20 minute walk to Ocean Beach. The courtyard is very quaint with beautiful flowers. Our room was directly across from the busy pool, but there are quiet hours, so it wasn't an issue at all when it was time to sleep. The room was clean and had everything we needed for our stay. I just wish we had another night there to have enjoyed to views a little longer. I would definitely stay there again on a future trip to San Diego!

It is a dated (but maintained) property…1.Outlets are VERY scarce. If you have the space, i recommend bringing a power strip or charger. 2. Rooms have paper thin walls. I HIGHLY recommend an upstairs room if you’re a light sleeper. 3. There is AC- however it doesn’t reach the “back” room in the 2 bedroom suite. So you’ll want to adjust the fan accordingly if you prefer to not sleep “hot” 4. Bring cozy clothes or blankets for the evenings on the patio. It’s lovely to sit out there but does get chilly and there weren’t patio heaters or fire pits while we were there. Overall, we would stay again but just adjust a few things on our trip. Please know: The staff was so helpful and even found us an extra fan to increase the air flow and drown out the noise from upstairs.
