Samesun Ocean Beach - Hostel

My partner and I had booked a private suite. Unfortunately, as soon as we got into bed that night, we noticed a bed bug right next to the pillow. Shortly afterward, we found another one on the chair. We were obviously very alarmed, especially since this happened around 1:00 a.m. We immediately went downstairs, showed the staff the videos we had taken, and explained that we had found bugs both on the bed and the chair. The staff were very understanding and told us that we were absolutely entitled to a refund. Finding another hotel at around 1:30 a.m. was extremely difficult, but luckily we were eventually able to find one. Unfortunately, my partner had already been bitten several times on one leg, so we went to a pharmacy and treated the bites as soon as it opened in morning. Aside from this experience, the room itself was actually nice for the price. If there had not been a bed bug issue, I probably would have considered it a great and affordable place to stay. Since this is a hostel with many different guests coming and going, I understand that there can always be some risk, even when booking a private suite. Still, finding bed bugs in the room was obviously a very stressful and disappointing experience.

You can go wrong with this hostel. Location, staff, facilities all the best.

People were friendly, nice hot water for showers after an evening dip in the ocean. They have beach towels you can sign out. Pretty nice for the value!

Had an overall good experience, but was disappointed by the AI generated printouts in various locations, as the decor was otherwise warm and inviting. I do need to also mention that my phone charger was taken alongside another item, and while I was able to recover that item thankfully, the more valuable charger that was literally wrapped around it disappeared, which I find suspect. Otherwise good vibes, but could use better lockers also.

All good. I do wish that the very few people who don't clean up their messes in Kitchen, in fridges, would just make that extra effort (which is actually just zero effort and is considered standard respect for shared spaces) to clean dishes, wipe up spilled milk in fridge, or label their food and throw away food that is expired or their's but not labeled, with that, Peace on Earth is possible! just a very few people skip signs like "no drinking or vaping on porch"...a very small ask

Super safe and in a great location! So many great amenities and the staff are super helpful and kind. Only reason I marked it down was because the private bathrooms had a weird smell but it was not an issue since I know this isn’t a 5 star hotel.

Home away from home

Staff are great, everything is very clean. There’s a great community space to hang out in. Great location just blocks from the beach. I made so many new friends! Would recommend I have zero complaints

I have never stayed in a hostel before and I have to say that this one sends it out of the park. The Staff get n automatic 10/10, all the way around. The hostel itself is also top notch.

Clean facility, love that soap is offered in showers, respectful guests Kitchen is small and wish there could have been a freezer to store frozen food items

Very well kept and the staff were very professional, polite, and very friendly and helpful. Kudos to them! I wouldn’t change anything!

Kitchen and bathrooms were well equipped with necessities and clean. The only one small detail is of course………. The parking! However its everywhere but especially here. So just keep in mind that you will have to park 2- 4 blks. away from hostel. However, the blocks are very very short and only a 3-7 min. Walk I recommend this place highly!
