San Diego Marriott Mission Valley

The property was extremely clean. The maintenance and cleaning staff were excellent. The air conditioning seemed to power down at night when we were sleeping. We set the thermostat for 67° but it stayed at 76°, which was not comfortable sleeping. The shower was hard to work. The nozzle was tight and not easy to turn on. On the last day, we had to get up early at 2:30AM for a 6AM flight and when we went to take a shower there was no hot water. We contacted the front desk and they sent maintenance right away who tried their best to get it working but were unsuccessful which meant we had to take a cold shower!! I don’t understand how they weren’t aware of the problem.

One of the very few hotels where you have to pay for parking, Wi-Fi, and no complimentary breakfast! Overall, good otherwise!

They were SO busy that I believe they were overwhelmed. Upon check-in, which I arrived an hour and a half past check-in time, the room that was assigned to me was still dirty. The front desk clerk quickly checked me in but didn't ask me any questions about my preferences and made no effort to make me feel comfortable. I didn't like that there weren't any stairs and therefore had to wait in long lines for the elevator. Later that evening we hit the pool to find it in absolute disarray with mountains of towels either piled or scattered everywhere with only one solitary staff member left to clean it. She brought me fresh towels for my kids but then badgered me saying that the pool is closing in 30 minutes and said it to me at least 4 times. I assured her I was aware and would leave at that time. The room was clean with a good size bathroom but didn't appreciate that there was no lock on the door and the handle was really loose and made a lot of noise.

I kindly asked for a pool-view room since I was traveling with young children, but my request was denied. I was hoping the hotel could accommodate the request. It also seemed that room preferences were prioritized for Marriott members, who appeared to be staying primarily for business. Overall, the staff was courteous and responsive, but the property needs updating and could do a better job accommodating families.

Clean room and great staff

The slider door for the bathroom was awful! It was really loud and hard to slide. The toilet was also very loud. It made it so if someone used the bathroom in the middle of the night it woke everyone up.

Professional staff, private atmosphere, perfect experience considering construction was going on that was completely unnoticed!

On the plus side, the staff were very friendly and helpful. I appreciate that I was able to order room service.

It was extremely clean, and the pool was a very good size for my kids to swim in.

I loved my time here, the room was clean, the shower was awesome the bed was comfy and the staff was great. The pool was perfect.

Absolutely perfect in every way! Staff were very helpful. Restaurant and bar were exactly what one expects from a top rated hotel.

The shower didn't work properly in our bathroom. A piece of metal fell on my head as I open the bathroom door. The extra moneybi paid for a balcony, it faces the foof with stones on the top.

By far one of the best hotels I stayed at! From the front desk staff, to the bar, to the restaurant, to the pool! Everyone was friendly, property was clean and the pool music was such a vibe! What make it even better it was the location!
