Springhill Suites San Diego Downtown/Bayfront

The room was comfortable and a very nice view . Roof top pool and sun sets were top notch . Wood fire pizza and full breakfast was very delicious

Room was clean and well maintained. Bathroom was small, no extra towel racks, no place to put wet towels. Towels were paper thin and scratchy.

Great location to explore all San Diego has to offer. Friendly and helpful stuff, especially Geoffrey who made our check in extra special. Comfy beds! We’d stay again and recommend

Cleanliness leaves much to be desired. Our room was cleaned by housekeeping and upon returning to the room in the evening, when we raised it to the front desk, we were told that there is no housekeeping staff on site so nothing could be done. Very disappointing and not what you expect when you pay $400 a night for the room. Marriott will be taking a back seat on my future travel plans given the service that we received for this stay.

Great hotel location, beautiful views from the room. Very nice amenities. Staff was very welcoming. Breakfast was great and plenty of space to sit and eat. I was only disappointed with the suite, I felt it could have been a little bigger. The pull-out couch was a bit rusty. Made noise when we pulled it out, not that comfy for sleeping. We stayed with our daughter and there was only one TV in the room. Not much separation. Hotel was kept nice, clean and beautiful outdoor bar lounge patio with great view and bar service. Great parking garage services.

The hotel was excellent. The front desk staff and breakfast staff were all very friendly and welcoming. The location was perfect, the room was very clean, and the room size was great. The view was beautiful, which made our stay even more enjoyable. I will definitely stay at this hotel every time I visit the area. The only thing I did not particularly like was that the water pressure in the shower was not very strong, but it was not a major issue and did not affect my overall experience. I will definitely stay at this hotel every time I visit the area.

The 9:00 a.m. breakfast cut-off is also extremely challenging, particularly when you’re on vacation with children. It feels unusually early for a hotel and makes mornings unnecessarily rushed. The restaurant/bar menu is similarly disappointing, with very limited options and not even a single steak on the menu. Overall, the food and beverage offering could definitely use improvement. On a very positive note, the housekeeping staff have been excellent, very friendly, welcoming, and attentive. Mark at reception was also fantastic and provided great service.

I didn’t like that our security was violated. My wife’s Credit cards and state ID cards were missing/stolen from our room. We only found out when we left for the airport. She left her shoulder bag in the room with her wallet containing those items and carried only her purse when we went out to eat. She only found out that it was missing with some cash when we were at the airport.

The room was clean and had a great (ocean) view. The hotel staff was nice and helpful. The parking garage is a little confusing. The garage is separate from the building, and you have to take 2 different elevators. The key system for the garage is new and wouldn’t work. We had to keep pressing the button for someone to let us out or ask the front desk for help. It happened the first 2 days of going in/out and was such an inconvenience to not know if our key would work. It wasn’t clear where to tap the key (there were 2 locations next to each other) and we pretty much had to guess and keep track which of the keys would work. Breakfast was okay, very busy no matter what time of the day/week. The rooftop bar was a nice location + view. It’s opening seating and we had to wait 15+ minutes for someone to finally acknowledge us, even though they made eye contact with us multiple times.

The best thing about this hotel is the view! The room was extremely small, the restroom door is not a door, its a sliding door where you can hear all your business. The restroom sink is very small as well. Most hotels provide robes and at least 2 small water bottles. Here you have to call and ask for the robes, and you have to buy waters from the store in the lobby. I definitely would not stay here again.
