The Westin San Diego Bayview

No one went above and beyond. Nothing special.. staff didn’t say good morning or speak to us. Facilities were acceptable. Difficult to find parking.

Absolutely fantastic location. Walking distance to USS Midway, Luttle Italy, Gaslamp and the Seaport. Complimentary Midway museum ticket which was amazing. Social hour with snacks and wine was a big bonus. Staff was always helpful and really friendly. Property is having some renovations but it’s otherwise very clean and well kept. No reno noise or mess but one entrance is closed right now.

I've stayed at other Westins and the rooms were nicer. The plug on one side of the bed did not work and the phone didn't charge overnight. The TV was hastily mounted crooked on the wall. The sheet had a hole near the feet that ripped more overnight. The windows on the side with a view of the bay were filthy. The quality has gone down year over year while price goes up.

There was construction happening during my entire stay and this hotel did not state any type of compensation or apology in regards to their LOUD messy construction. I am on vacation and worked very hard to save my time and money to enjoy myself and to come to this property with a not so relaxing vibe is just not a great way to start a vacation. And the staff at check in had the worst customer service. Not even a “good afternoon, and which way to find the elevators etc!” I had to navigate and look around for myself! Very disappointed at this Westin! Other Westin’s I stayed would’ve never done this to me

Location was excellent. The shower water was cold

Cons: Bathtub would fill up with water up to our ankles while showering. It was supposedly looked at but no change. Toilet made loud weird noises when not in use in the middle of the night. Lastly, the hot and cold for temperature were opposite of what it displayed.

Construction! I was not informed of this or I wouldn’t have booked here. No AC downstairs, AC was off upstairs in my room and made a horrible noise when on. It took all day to cool down. The construction noise was crazy. The parking! It cost $65 per day to park. I could have upgraded to another hotel for the extra money I had to spend. General manager just said “sorry”. Won’t go back!

The location was great. The pool deck area was never cleaned. There was a bathroom that was out of service the entire 2wk stay. There were 3 umbrella’s in the pool area for 26 floors of rooms. Pool was closed for guests for 2 days due to banquet. We were not notified prior to arrival that there would be major construction during our stay. Pool was closed for guests for 2 days due to banquet.

Everything from check in to check out was great. Its in such a good location and so many places were easily accessible. Beds were comfy and rooms were clean.
