Staff is nice.

Room was nice and clean

The room was beautiful and clean. It is a little small, but very on par for the location. You’re right downtown, next to bus stops, including one that takes your directly to the airport for only $2.50, walking distance to the gas lamp district but still not right in the middle of the craziness. The blackout blinds on the windows are super helpful for sleeping in. It wasn’t terribly noisy outside, but you can hear some noise from the pipes. I have that at my own home though so it wasn’t terribly noticeable to me. There’s a station to fill your water bottle next to the elevators that dispenses both ice and water at the same time and I thought that was the neatest thing! The staff was so kind and always excited to talk to you. They have people hold the door for you and greet you. The staff just seemed like great vibes all around and I only had lovely interactions with them. I felt super safe and would definitely stay here again!

We had a horrible experience as the room was VERY small. We couldn't roll our luggage into the room and there was barely 18 inches to walk around the bed. The bathroom was a good size but the towels were very rough. We were put into a courtyard room which overlooked the "cafe". I thought this would be quieter but it was not. On a Wednesday night, there was a wedding with a live band in the courtyard. It sounded like the band was in our room. I was surprised that they put us into this room knowing that an event with a live band would be playing. The front desk stated "we didn't know how loud the band would be" but they should have been proactive and put guests in rooms on the other side of the building and high floors. We will NEVER stay there again and wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

The room was the smallest room I have ever seen and the dinner in the courtyard restaurant for both my wife and I had so much salt in it that it was inedible!!

Loved, loved, lovedddd our stay there! Best location, great staff and I can’t wait to see what happens when they finish the new renovations.
-
The doormen were very, very nice, helpful and accommodating as well as the kitchen staff, although they seem frustrated with our requests at times. The speakeasy never had a crowd or a bartender for the entire four nights day. I was there from Friday till Tuesday.
-
Great place in a historical building.
-
Waitresses in the courtyard need to do a better job at being attentive and courteous.

Clean room all staff was super nice and helpful

-Dog friendly hotel, so we were able to bring our fur baby - Staff was kind and attentive/very responsive to questions prior to our stay via email/expedia - Location can’t be beat - 10 min walk from Little Italy, 10-15 minute walk to the bars at the heart of Gaslamp, 20 minute walk to the marina area. - a handful of very good coffee places on the same block of the hotel - We booked a corner suite so our room was actually spacious enough (saw other reviews stating the cozy rooms are quite small) - Boutique feel/kinda cool it used to be a true YMCA Not Pros: - No fault of their’s but there was on going construction in the lobby -While the rooms and style are unique there were parts of the room that could use some upgrading - shower handle was very loose/almost falling off, toilet flush was strong but jarringly loud, some of the white tiles looked more grey than white - No pet relief area but there’s a park down the street to take your pet. You may or may not encounter some homeless characters if you walk your pet early in the morning or late at night -Parking in the garage around the corner is the cheapest option, valet was pricy.

Great rooms, convenient location and wonderful courtyard.

Our weekend stay was amazing
-
You said it was family friendly, and it wasn't. Not family friendly.
-
Very small rooms, eding on the uncomfortable. Staff was, ok but not greeting or attentive. Bathroom was good.
-
Smaller room but clean and the bed was very comfortable. Clean, despite some construction happening while I was there. Two blocks from the train and trolley, 10 min walk to gaslamp. Wish they had a pool… Fitness room had dumbbells up to 50 lb, a multi grip pull-up station, benches, well maintained treadmills, which I was glad for. Great spot to be just out of reach of some of the less desirable issues in downtown SD.

Staff were excellent! Place was clean. They staff made my 5 star rating! Restaurant had yummy food at decent prices. They were under construction so the hotel lobby and restaurant were a little difficult to get to, but amazingly clean for being under construction. There was no coffee maker in the room when I got there but the staff got me one in an hour of arrival. Even better Savannah replenished coffee supply and sugar after 2 days without asking which was above and beyond! Thanks to the staff! Great hotel!
