The Davis Downtown San Diego

hot water in the bathroom is a basic, mandatory amenity that every hotel must provide. the water in the bathroom was barely warm . very disappointed. Bathroom shower rods looked rusty or dirty and NO hot water in the shower . when asked them check on , it almost looked liked they played well initially and later emailed me everything is okay in the room

No staff onsite. Digital check in and code entry. It was more of a guest house than hotel. You could text questions to an AI “desk” but they were not onsite so were unable to answer some questions. Nice decorations. Classy vibes. It was a historic building restored. The street noise was loud. Had a Kurig coffee station. Powder creamer. Great downtown location. I prefer a hotel with actual staff. We had a nice stay but I wouldn’t likely stay there again.

Just the bed in 211 makes a lot of noise

My room was fine main concern was finding baby roaches downstairs in the lobby y when grabbing water

We had an excellent stay! The room was beautiful, clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. Everything was just as expected, and the entire experience was wonderful. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable and relaxing stay!

Poor

As long as you are ok with possibly not seeing any staff, using a code to access the building and your room, this was a great stay for me. The rooms are not large, and the amenities are minimal, however it was very clean, AC was good. It's strictly a hotel to sleep, shower, and hold your stuff. The area is so/so, unfortunately that is DTSD problem that effects all. Would stay there again.

Very clean, close to the marina. The host is very quick and diligent so no issues at all!

- non working a/c just blows warm air so it was really musty inside and we couldn’t sleep. There was a loud noise off and on for at least 20min like a plane was landing on the roof. Not sure but it wasn’t the best experience that’s for sure.

We had a great stay! Room was the perfect size for 2 of us on a 3 day trip. Room was clean and cool upon arrival and check in and out was smooth! We were able to park overnight at a parking lot up the street that was decently priced. Overall, a great stay and we will be back even we're back in town!

Liked it but it was small, tight and older

I chose the “deluxe” room and it barely fit another person let alone a person that is above 5’10 (bed/bathroom/shower). After seeing the room, we noticed there was a stale smell in the room. Almost like clothes left over night in the washer. Opening the window and the rooms AC wall unit helped. Outside of the room, the hotel is straight forward. They offered luggage storage which was helpful. I can’t stay here again due to the room size and potential smell.

I had a great stay at The Davis Downtown San Diego. The service was incredibly fast and efficient, AC worked perfectly and my room was completely spotless. Highly recommend!

Easy to check-in and check out, no hassle. Very convenient to local amenities.

It was fine. Really no amenities to speak of. The rooms very clean but very small. Sliding closet doors on the bathrooms that didn’t offer privacy. Beds were comfortable. Very close to Petco Park which is what we needed so that was great. Overall it was fine. No problems at all. Nothing special either.
