only one chair in room that needed to be re-upholstered,

It is a nice hotel in the heart of the gas lamp, check in was easy, lots of close lots to park at to avoid the high valet charge. Staff was very friendly. Bartender makes a stiff complimentary drink. Easy walk to everything, clean room. Only con would be cause of its age it’s easy to hear people next door or in the hallway. Woke up early because staff was cleaning rooms and talking in hallway which came easily through the door.

The hotel is lovely and has a very New Orleans feel to it. The location can’t be beat and Bailey is a fabulous bartender…she mixes some great cocktails and was so pleasant and fun to talk to! She made our evening!

Lovely quiet, cozy hotel in the heart of everything downtown. Totally recommend.

We had a great stay. The location was great with lots of restaurants and coffee shops nearby. Very clean and beautiful hotel that preserves and honors the history. Friendly staff at the desk, in the restaurant, and doing the housekeeping. We will be coming back whenever we are in the area.

The whole staff was kind and helpful. The hotel was beautiful and well kept. The hotel is so retro and absolutely gorgeous.

Every room we've stayed in has been spotless, and we've never had a single issue throughout all the years we've been visiting. The Horton has truly become a tradition for us, and we can't recommend it enough. If you're looking for a clean, comfortable place with outstanding hospitality, you can't go wrong staying here!

The HGH has a great feel to it, and is in a terrific location. Gaslamp area is full of life, with great restaurants, cafés and shopping. Many sights/events are walkable from the Horton Grand, including Petco, waterfront, Broadway Pier, Midway Museum, Little Italy, and even Balboa, if you have the energy. Very nice room, helpful staff , and Salt & Whiskey is a great place to unwind.

Our room was clean. Housekeeping was excellent. We told them not to come on the third day. Service in the bar/ restaurant was excellent. Victor was very friendly and we had several chats. The valet personnel was friendly and very helpful. I can’t remember his name but he was very attentive. When we checked in we were upgraded to a suite by Adi. That made us so happy and much more comfortable. Overall we had a wonderful experience, and we can’t wait to go back!

everything was great.

The check in process and valet service was very smooth. The room and space was amazing. I loved the area by the entrance. It was very relaxing to eat my breakfaast and coffee with the water installation and plants.
-
A fabulous building but room was small, a lack of any breakfast options, a limited bar food menu in the evening and a noisy wedding happening in the courtyard on a Saturday morning
-
old with small rooms noisy

First I will say the best thing about this place was the front desk staff. They were very nice and accommodating. The distance to the convention center was also convenient. Now the bad news...the hotel is very old. Walls are paper thin, you hear everything above you which was extremely disruptive. My bathroom looked like the shower was from 1920. I thought the shower spout was going to shear right off the wall it was so old and outdated. The tub looked like the stains had been there a pretty long while. And though housekeeping did do a nice job to distract me from the outdated room, I still was reminded by the rock hard bed and pillows. I am not a tough guest to please and I wasn't even going to write about my experience, but Expedia has been nagging me to leave a review...so here it is. Decent location to the convention center, friendly staff...but needs an internal makeover bad.

Enjoyed the interior decoration, room did not have a mini fridge

We enjoyed staying at the Horton, it was walking distance to Petco Stadium and the marina as well as lots of restaurants. We were able to Uber easily to Old Town and Little Italy. It was nice to get complimentary drinks in the bar. We loved the old architecture of the building, our patio and the atrium. The gym was decent well.

great hotel. wish they had food available for breakfast or lunch.

The bed was nice and I liked being able to use the tub—it seems a rarity these days!
